Nana here to showcase his anti-aggro deck. This is not the first time I've tried to make taunt druid work. The other time I did I got to top 200 legend with it quite easily. proof
Just coached my brother to legend with this updated list. He got there with a 61% winrate. So if you are struggling to get there this final week this is the deck to go for :) hf
Let me show you how this would work:
Core cards;
I'm sure you can see the synergies without me pointing them out.
Here's a simple mulligan
Note: Don't keep Master Oakheart unless you have the needed ramp in your mulligan phase
A little in-depth mulligan against aggro or control decks, these are of the highest priority
Against Control: Keep, Master Oakheart, Nourish, Oaken Summons and Wild Growth
Against Aggro: Keep, Lesser Jasper Spellstone, Oaken Summons, Wrath, Swipe and Wild Growth
Gameplan;
Ramp up quickly with Wild Growth and Nourish, get your taunts out there and whittle your opponent down.
Later in the game look for combos like;
Hadronox now summons;
Tips Section
Against Aggro, ramp as quickly as possible and put your taunts down.
You can Drop your Hadronox into a Doomsayer if you have enough dead Taunts to deny your opponent setup time
Hadronox + Naturalize is going to win you a lot of games, you should not throw your Hadronox into a silence because you're impatient. Also don't waste your Naturalize every time you need something to disappear, you have a lot of armor for a reason
Branching Paths can give you a lethal you might not realize afterHadronox Vomits
You can put Hadronox down without naturalize if you're playing against a non-mage/non-shaman deck and cube it later. If they silence and kill it just play your Witching Hour and Cube that
That's all for now
Leave your suggestions/thoughts/questions in the comments below. Thanks
Aaaaah, true! Didn't take Oaken Summons into account!
Does polymorph and hex frog minion have priority over Hadrodox? Ive never been able to pull it out with Witching Hour...
What do you mean? If Hadro got polymorphed, then it didn't die, so you cannot discover the card, as the conditions haven't been met. Hope it clears it up ;)
Other taunt minions got polymorphed/hexed and died. They are added to my dead pool and when I use Witching Hour I always get them... Sheep and Frog are considered beast also like Hadrox.
My bad - Witching Hour does not discover, just summons a random, so it might by just bad RNG on your side, as there is no prioritising :(
Thank you for posting the deck and guide, it's a really fun and effective archetype to play!
One change I made was to switch out one Primordial Drake for one Astral Tiger. Two drakes felt a little bit slow at times. Also, fatigue was sometimes a factor in the longer games and the tiger helped to get rid of that. Also, the tiger would sometimes bait out a silence. Even against aggro decks this seemed to work fine.
Really enjoying the deck, great work!
insane deck,good vs aggro and good vs cubelock.
my only lost (from 7 games or so) was against lucky gness rough.
rank 2 by now :]
Rank 10 to 5 with with 77% win rate... ++++
Ok the solution to this is simple. If at all possible never play Hadronox before you have 10 mana. The best way to play this card is when you have Naturalize in hand. After you use naturalize then use Witching Hour and then follow up with a Carnivorous Cube to seal the deal. Even if they poly the carnivorous cube or silence it it doesn't matter because you already got Hadronox out and you have more cards to resurrect him with.
I made this comment previously to another person I was helping. Hope this helps. Cheers!
I am looking for the answer to his question myself. What he is referring to not Hadrodox getting hexed but when using witching hour you summon the frog instead of Hadrox. almost a dealbreaker lost 70% of games because of this.
oh ya right ok thanks
I took out the Creepers for a Void Ripper as a killing blow and a Greedy Sprite. Creepers are bad to pull from Hadronox and the void ripper gets kills several turns earlier
Sounds interesting. Let us know how that goes for you please!
I thought I did. Oops 0.0
Since then I've found it hard to get value from Ferocious Howl, so I took them out and put in a 2nd Sprite (to reduce the odds of a Void Ripper) and another Branching Paths.
Aside from those irritating moments where Oaken Summons pulls a Ripper, the card works out very well. It wins more games than it loses, I literally just won a game against priest, with a board with 40 damage following an Anti-Magic Shell.
That said earlier today I also instalost a game against an aggro deck because my Summons pulled him when I desperately needed a Golem. I make myself feel better about that decision saying it probably would have pulled a Sprite anyway. That was rare tho, I got Hadronox and Lich King in my mulligan :c Sometimes the game says 'No.'
A very fun deck tho, even though my version is basically asleep until 4 mana
EDIT: I'm experimenting with an Astral Tiger over a UI, since against other control decks this goes to fatigue quite often. Its another early game body vs aggro, another card to pull from Oaken Summons over my Void Ripper, and if I KNOW its going to fatigue I can pop a Cube on it. Its a good idea to mitigate fatigue since you can't run Malfurion DK, and you still have 6 draw in the deck elsewhere. I've frequently found UI to be very awkward since you hold quite a few cards in hand to combo with. God forbid you play UI to search for Hadronox and its the 6th card down and gets milled D:
That said I literally JUST made the change, I'll let you know how it goes. Who knows, maybe I'll miss the UIs reload.
this deck is very fun. currently 4-1 lost to rush warrior due to the lack of ramp. the ramp is needed otherwise you fall behind to pretty much every deck.
I want to spend my last hard earned dusterino and I am between this list and spiteful druid. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance
I suggest you craft this deck. It's more fun as well as legend capable :)
thanks! I will give it a shot :)
Finally i have reach rank 5 so good deck but can you help me whit 1 thing ad to tell me is that good or bad to put one card Astral Tiger just to have card,when i play vs same build the game is to long and we dont have card and i take a big damage for that so that card can help me or not ?
It can definitely help you in long matches but it's not needed. And in mirror matches you don't need that card to help you win just draw quickly and do your combo before your opponent does his. You shouldn't be afraid of fatigue damage if you do your calculations well. Just plan to flood the board and finish the game quickly before the fatigue catches up with you.
