Hi everyone!
I just wanted to post here deck that got me into the legend in this season!
Pretty easy spell hunter that makes huuuge advantage by playing Barnes+Yshaarj combo on turn 4.
[EDIT]
OMG! I didnt even expect that many upvotes, but I think I should give you some advices.
FIRST OF ALL: I DID NOT COPY OR STOLE THIS DECK. AS I SAID BEFORE, I ONLY WANTED TO POST IT, BECAUSE IT HAD GOT ME TO THE LEGEND.
Okay, so I think we should speak about meta decks match-ups that had made you in big troubles.
1. Aggro Paladin
All you need to do is to keep good cards and rethink every play twice.
Cards to keep:
Explosive Trap; Wandering Monster; Unleash the hounds/card]; [card] Eaglehorn bow; Candleshot
When I dont have coin and those cards, I wouldnt keep Barnes here. You dont need big body like Y'shaarj against aggro, you need to clear EVERY MINION. Thats how you win. Aggro deck is like snowball. If you dont cler his board, he will destroy you. Don't worry about destroying your Bow on his creatures. All you need to do is to survive 'till Rexxar. Then, its often gg.
2. Priest
There are two types of priests nowadays - combo, and spiteful summoneer. You should always mulligan for:
Barnes; Wandering Monster; Deadly Shot; if you'e got secret and Barnes you can go for the Spellstone.
Both archetypes of priests dont play SW:D today, so Y'shaarj is big, big advantage. Try to bait him to play duskbreakers before your full loaded spellstone. It's not a bad idea to shot Flanking Strike to Northshire Cleric too. If hes out of cards - he loses.
If you dont have Barnes, try to draw him with Tracking. If you still havent got him, then you need, as always, keep the preassure by wiping his board and summoning minions. It's actually the hardest match-up, but If you focus on game and think much, you can get rid of him easily!
3. Control Warlock/Cubelock
Here, as It was at Priest's matchup, always look for Barnes. Warlocks don't have removealls for Y'shaarj on turn 5, and on turn 6 it could be too late.
Cards to keep:
Candleshot; Barnes; Tracking; Eaglehorn Bow; Wandering Monster; Freezing Trap and Deadly Shot (for turn 6 voiddaddy or doomguard, or even for Possessed Lackey).
STAY TUNED FOR POSSIBLE EXCHANGES IN A FEW DAYS
Biggest bullshit ever to hear spell hunter climb wild
just admit that you copied this deck, no one will care and you just look petty now.
What made you feel the need to copy and paste standard spell hunter?
It's always so refreshing to see Barnes! Really cool, refreshing and interesting deck man! Really.
Lol, so copy paste top spell barnes hunter deck used for past two+ months. Neat.
https://hsreplay.net/decks/G2JBxFUZOIzMuhCh5edF1d/
76,000 games recorded, 56.5% WR, out of those games in the past month.
Still works w/out Rhok'delar
Yip! I play the same deck without the weapon and it works great.
Whenever you get into lategame DK is more than sufficient.
No need for the weapon.
I also do not run Freezing trap and Deadly shot. I just focus on tempo and it brought me to legend last season.
Grievous Bite is important against Paladin.
How do you win vs priest & lock with this deck?
Last season I was having a lot of good times vs them (later realised it was 100% luck), but now I'm having an around 35-40% win rate vs both of them.
Warlock it's impossible to create enough pressure vs before turn 5-6 voidlords & cubes, and dk guldan is impossible to outvalue with rexxar because of the hero power.
Priest I sometimes win, but more often than not even if I get a turn 3/4 barnes yshaarj they just acolyte it, and spellstone very rarely sticks against dragon priest because of duskbreaker, so I'm not sure what's left to generate any pressure with..
if manage summon barnes turn 4, they stand no chance for cube lord
managed to nail barns on 4th turn as cubelock few times. Dream is faceless on ysharaj > voidlord from the deck :) (always get doomguard)
guide withheld till upvoted? -1 deck is only good vs control all the aggro decks will shit on it cause it doesnt have enough mechanics to slow them down
LOL. this deck beat aggro and lose to control
Can I replace Rhok'delar?
Yes, in fact in the current meta a lot of spell hunters don't even use Rhok'delar due to its anti synergy with barnes. Other options are more secrets (such as Freezing Trap 2 or venomstrike) or second deadly shot.
I honestly wonder if Rhok'delar is not just an anti-control tech in this deck. I've played a good amount of games and I've watched streamers play a good amount of games, and it never really seems good. It's often very difficult to find a good opportunity to play it and get value from it. It seems kind of counterintuitive because it seems like such an obvious card in this deck. In a way it's similar to Rin.
Anyway, I've played ~10 games and I never ended up in a spot where I needed a card like Rhok'delar.
This deck is old.... why re-post this deck 1000x times? :/
Did I just craft Y'Shaarj 10 days before rotation to make a shitty video? YES. Do I regret it? I don't know yet but what I do know is that this deck is a ton of fun to play and can actually resist aggro and defeat control decks in certain situations and I am all up about that. also rok'delar + Hero make for some very good card draw and can end up in very fun situations.
as I said, I made a short video showcasing the deck in all of its glory, all Hail Y'shaarj (before he rotates out) and also don't blame me if you decide to craft him and you end up regretting your decision next week XD
Cool deck, winning tons vs control warlock, priest, and secret mage, however 1-5 vs murloc paladin so far at rank 4. Only game I won was with yshaarj on 3 with coin, the rest I just got steamrolled by early murlocs and tarim for finisher, no clue how to ever beat that deck.
Hmmm... That's interesting, when I was climbing from 9 to legend I've met paladin a few times. All you need to do is to not mulligan everything fo rBarnes, but you need to look for Candleshot, Explosive trap, Wandering monster and unleash. All you need to do is to clear the board every turn, except turn 4/5 when you should play Barnes.
