After stopping playing Hearthstone for awhile, I came back to the game and decided to play in wild with any cards that I have at the moment. I opened some packs and hold and behold... Fungalmancer was acquired.
With the correct board, Fungalmancer basically impacts the turn immediately by adding 4 damage for you to manage. With the same amount of mana, Leeroy gives you 6 damage... But... Some of us know that Leeroy is used as a finisher rather than a permanent body on board.
Antonidas is there because of "Stealth Antonidas" can be born from Finicky Cloakfield obtained from Mech synergies in this deck. Stealth Antonidas has won me some games and that's 17 damage to the face if left unmitigated.
Feel free to interchange Leeroy Jenkins with another Fungalmancer (This is seriously an underrated card and deserves some attention to aggressive decks). If you're on a budget and want to replace Antonidas, add Flamecannon or any direct-damage-to-the-face card. Flamecannon however gives you an interesting board swing in the earlier stages of the game. I would have included this card originally if it wasn't for the 30 card cap in Hearthstone.
This game is meant to be played aggressively with Fireball or Frostbolt to be played as minion removals. However, Fireballing your opponents face is always fun and thus, please do so if it wins you game.
Fungalmancer certainly has improved the overall power of the deck and will continue to be a key card on turn 5 or 6 in match-ups. Finally, also consider to add a copy of Scorp-o-matic as this card can mitigate any Doomsayer that would be popping up the ladder to destroy your nicely lined-up minions on board.
MECH MAGE IS STILL ALIVE!!!
To all Mech Mage archetype deck fans... Happy Mech Maging. See you in Hearthstone.
how many times does a fireball generated by antonidas win u the game?
When meeting with a Tempo Rogue or a Tempo mage. It has some special moments. It benefits from the 1 mana spells generated from other cards. The card itself is not the primary win condition, it's just a Plan-B win condition if the game extended to mid-late game.
Well Met! If any one is interested in watching a video about this deck you can check it out.
I hope that you will enjoy. MrRank20 thanks for sharing this decklist an trying to make this deck work!
I like mech mage sience goblins and gnomes :P i change little this deck got dr boom and fel rever x2 < its OP
i feel bad when i start play wild at 25 rank and meet those new players ;/
Turn 2 mechwraper, turn 3 coin+fel rever or turn 4 fel rever its insane xD
Loatheb, Mad Scientist + Counterspell and 0-mana fireball and Fel Reaver are good in this deck. Tony is too slow.
Please enlighten me how to get a 0-mana fireball
Explosive Runes.
should i remove mana wyrn for scorp o matic?
i dont have unstable portal so i am running 2 spider tanks and 2 intellects
Never thought of that. Just freely explore, let me know the results. Thanks for asking, I'll probably try it myself.
just way too slow to have a 2cost 1-2 istead of a mana wyrm. not enough targets for scorpo to make it worth it. at least not enough to have 2 scorpos
Sounds interesting. Really nice! A little bit nostalgic too. Mechamge came three or even four years ago. Instead of Leeroy Jenkins i use Argent commander(i don't have it). Or maybe i don't need charge at all. But i copy this deck! Thx.
Ahh the old mech mage! Have you tried gorillabot? It usually provides nice value while synergizing with the mechs. Surprised youre not running Loathed or the doc.
I remember running one unstable for the hell of it. Some synergy with the wyrm and occasionally wins you the game with an early, crazy minion.
I was thinking of Laotheb for awhile and no doubt it is an awesome addition to stop your opponents from clearing your minions. In this deck, it targets to race the opponent's face down to 0 hp. Fungalmancer and Leeroy has a instant board impact by adding damage (4 damage and 6 damage respectively). Laotheb has an instant impact where the opponent can't cast big spells but does not add damage. Dr. Boom is a value play but does not give that instant impact to kill off your opponent if they have 3-4 hp left. With all the Aggro Paladins and Aggro Shamans, Dr. Boom can be a bit slow to make an impact.
I rarely use Antonidas. He is not the primary win condition. The card just benefits from the cheap 1 mana spells generated by other cards in this deck list.
I have used two Gorillabot before; swapped it with 1 Jeeves and 1 Arcane Intellect. The reason is: Gorilla bot gives you RNG and I aim to have less RNG in this deck to promote consistency in my games. Plus, Jeeves can give you insane value sometimes by drawing 3 cards of you have an empty hand.
Currently I run 1 Unstable Portal and 1 Scorp-o-matic (a single tech card against aggro match-ups). Anyway, Unstable Portal gives you a board body while Primordial Glyph in wild is not as fun as in standard, you can try it yourself.
Here is a link of a forum discussing the same question.
And... I didn't say I hate RNG, I just want the deck to perform more consistently. I actually like to be blessed with lucky RNG... A 5 mana Tirion Fordring from Unstable Portal is awesome a Snowflipper Penguin for 2 mana is not.
I'd give Loatheb a shot. I've been running him with good success. This deck wins with early minion pressure and early board control. If you cant control the board with the first 3-4 turns, you are most likely not winning. Minions need to land that first 10-15 or so damage to be able to have a chance to burn your opponent out.
If you can land Loatheb mid game with minions on board, its most likely gg unless they can play a large taunt. He has sealed the game for me multiple times. So I'd say technically Loatheb does add damage by protecting your minions and letting them hit face for another turn
Very nice! When I first started playing HS I played mech mage mostly and really miss it! Going to try this after work since I never really played wild.
I think Primordial Glyph would be better than Unstable Portal. What's your opinion?
I did actually asked the same question in the forum. Basically, you are hoping to get a value minion to contest for the board. Playing Glyph in wild is not as fun compared to standard. I did try it... It just took out the tempo I had me going. Portal is there to assist that Wyrm to get +1 attack while hoping to get a 5 mana Tirion.
