Description

This deck originally started out as 2 different decks: Patron Warrior and Hobgoblin Warrior. I noticed that both decks contained a lot of similar cards, so I decided to try merging them, and it turned out way more successful than I expected.

A lot of patience is needed when playing this deck. You will usually fall behind in the early turns, then swing the board around with a huge tempo play, gain a ton of armor with Armorsmith, then continuously pressure the opponent with wave after wave of minions, up to 5 or more waves of Grim Patrons, Hobgoblins and Rotface.

Card Choices

Core Cards:

Grim Patron: The Inner Rage + Grim Patron + swing with Death's Bite/Blood Razor combo can very often be played on turn 5, potentially game-winning if the opponent doesn't have a board clear.

Rotface: Usually the finisher after the opponent has exhausted all their board clears.

Hobgoblin: Has synergy with Animated Berserker, Armorsmith, Val'kyr Soulclaimer, Unstable Ghoul, Acolyte of Pain. Usually, you will want to save up these cards for a huge swing with Hobgoblin, unless you desperately need board presence, or their utility.

Blood Razor: 2 Whirlwind effects in a single card, and curves perfectly into Grim Patron. This card is also extremely powerful against Aggro decks.

Death's Bite: Played on turn 3/4, this card usually creates a huge swing by potentially killing 2 minions, or dealing a ton of damage to face. It also curves perfectly into Grim Patron.

Inner Rage: Cheapest Enrage activator. Allows you to pull off the Inner Rage + Grim Patron combo as early as turn 5. Very flexible card that can be used to burst down the opponent, perform value trades, activate Execute, or trigger Armorsmith/Battle Rage/Val'kyr Soulclaimer/Rotface/Acolyte of Pain/Grim Patron.

Whirlwind: Flexible card that can be used as an AoE, activate Execute, or trigger Armorsmith/Battle Rage/Val'kyr Soulclaimer/Rotface/Acolyte of Pain/Grim Patron.

Supporting Cards:

Unstable Ghoul: Can be played alongside Hobgoblin as a 3/5 Taunt. The Deathrattle triggers Armorsmith/Battle Rage/Val'kyr Soulclaimer/Rotface/Acolyte of Pain/Grim Patron. This card is also very powerful against Aggro decks. Consider cutting this card if the meta is very slow.

Forge of Souls: Running a single copy of this allows you to almost always have a Death's Bite/Blood Razor equipped on turn 4, greatly increasing the odds of having the Grim Patron combo on turn 5. This also helps thin your deck, increasing the odds of drawing Inner Rage/Grim Patron by turn 5.

Battle Rage: When you are ahead, instead of overextending, you should try to injure your board to pull off a huge draw with Battle Rage, so that you will have the cards to refill the board after the opponent clears the board.

Val'kyr Soulclaimer: Extremely hard to kill with a single hit when played alongside Hobgoblin (becomes a 3/6 minion). Can sometimes be used on its own to bait out board clears. Very powerful 3-drop against Aggro decks. Consider running a single copy only to make space for tech cards.

Execute: Cheap single-target removal.

Armorsmith: Extremely hard to kill when played alongside Hobgoblin (becomes a 3/6 minion), coupled with the fact that the opponent will usually need to focus on Hobgoblin or Animated Berserker. Combine this with Whirlwind effects to gain massive amounts of armor.

Animated Berserker: Can be played alongside Hobgoblin as a 3/5 body. Can be used to trigger Armorsmith/Battle Rage/Val'kyr Soulclaimer/Rotface/Acolyte of Pain/Grim Patron.

Acolyte of Pain: Extremely hard to kill with a single hit when played alongside Hobgoblin (becomes a 3/5 minion), potentially drawing you a ton of cards. Curves perfectly into Blood Razor.

Card Substitutions

Rampage: Gives the deck more ability to burst the opponent down from high health. Consider running this if the meta is very slow.

Dead Man's Hand: With Forge of Souls, Battle Rage and Acolyte of Pain, the deck can sometimes reach Fatigue very quickly. If you find your games often coming down to Fatigue, consider running this.

Ravaging Ghoul: Strong body with Whirlwind effect. Excluded because it cannot be played together with Rotface. Consider running this if the meta is very aggressive.

Sleep with the Fishes: Cheap board clear that works well with all the Whirlwind effects in the deck. Consider running this if the meta is very aggressive.

Scourgelord Garrosh: Sometimes, you may run out of Whirlwind effects, but still have minions that are weak without Whirlwind effects in hand. This guarantees you will never run out of Whirlwind effects.

Frothing Berserker: A win-more card that will instantly win the game if the opponent has no answer for it.

Angry Chicken: I included this for fun, and it actually turned out better than I expected. Played alongside Hobgoblin, this becomes a 3/3 minion that has the potential to become a 8/2 minion if it survives.

Revenge: More Whirlwind effects.

Echoing Ooze: Hobgoblin synergy. Also has decent synergy with Rampage, if included.
