That deck is so much fun, milling those greedy motherf*ckers. This deck has not specialy a high WR but gives a tremendous satisfaction feeling when pulling out the combo.

Bad matchup are crazy aggro decks and also Dead Man's Hand Warrior (which we don't see much right now).

This is largly inspired from https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/937404-stancifkas-mill-rogue-postnerf (Sept 21st 2017)

General Strategy

Mill Deck are generally extrem control decks. So the goal is to survive, break your opponent combos, and do your mill combo as follow:
-> Play Valeera during the game
-> Make your opponent go to fatigue (don't be to far behind in term of cards so that you are certain to draw all your combo cards)
-> Play Shadowblade => you are now immune
-> Play Coldlight Oracle, then another one (from Shadow Reflection), Shadowstep an oracle and then replay that oracle. So that's 3 + 3 + 3 + 0 + 1 = 10 mana combo for 6 cards draw.

If you wait for opponent to take 1dmg of fatigue then that combo does 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 3 (from the blade) + 8 (op turn) = 38dmg (35 if there is a taunt). You don't take any because you are immune.

Of course this is the perfect scenario. Don't always go for the combo, some times you need to make a judgment call to lose the oracles during the game if it allows you to burn a great amount of opponent cards. Adjust your playstyle according to the matchup.

Card Choice

Core/Combo Cards

Coldlight OracleShadowbladeShadowstepValeera the Hollow
Coldlight Oracle
Shadowblade
Shadowstep
Valeera the Hollow

You only need ONE of each so you can use the other Coldlight Oracle to burn your opponent cards or control the board with Shadowblade or even Shadowstep a Vilespine Slayer

Other cards

Vanish (with Preparation) allows to mill even more your opponent and reset the board when behind
Vilespine Slayer just kill the big threat before Vanish
Mistress of Mixtures your health is really important with this deck and your opponent's is not (your goal is to OTK mill him)

Tech cards

Changes

Skulking Geist: Fix matchup agains Jade Druid, and kills combo of Kingsbane Mill Rogue, Combo Priest and Cubelock
Doomsayer force your opponent to play poorly/lose tempo or to use its removal. Also also allows to take the heat from Explosive Runes
Tar Creeper against aggro
Fan of knife against aggro Paladin

Tips

- Don't kill your opponent card draw Aluneth, Acolyte of Pain,Mana Tide TotemNorthshire Cleric let them kill themselves
- Use your hero power whenever possible
- Use your Doomsayer asap against aggro, but keep it for late game against control
- Don't mill yourself, so dump cheap stuff if needed (Backstab, The Coin etc)
- Control the board with hero power, Backstab, Fan of knife, 1xShadowblade & Vilespine Slayer
- If you can burn your opponent card do it whenever possible (without breaking your combo card) so Coldlight Oracle + Gang Up

Counterfeit Coin x2
+ The Curator Allows you to go fetch your oracle when they are at the bottom and additional taunt
+ Cheat Death Almost all minion are good target to have back into your hand and having an additional Coldlight Oracle or Vilespine Slayer can go a long way. Just try to avoid getting back Skulking Geist :).

Have fun !
