Introductory words
If you find success with a deck, why not share that success with others? This is the reason for this deck post. I do not want my efforts to go wasted.
Through the past 3 days of fiddling (the viable card combinations) with iterations of the control mage - this came up to be the most successful (for me). Test it out, I want to hear your reactions!
I have been playing this deck nonstop for at least 2 days in a row, and I've had great results; now I want to see the potential at the hands of someone else.
Given enough time, this deck will break through the rank 10 floors of Cubelocks, Control warlocks, Dragon-priests, Jade druids, Aggro-druids, and Highlander priests; and performs as an anti-meta alternative. (pre-nerf)
Important Card Choices
Coldlight Oracle is essential against card hoarding decks such as Priest and Warlock and can be a win condition, unlike Acolyte of Pain, which is the most direct comparison. Coldlight also works dynamically better than Acolyte in the sense that Coldlight Oracle draws immediately. In clutch situations, Coldlight can save you by drawing Arcane Artificer.
This card can fetch all your luxuries such as Rin, Polymorph, Dragon's Fury, Arcane Artificer, Ice Block, Jaina, Alanna, Mind Control, Gnome Feratu, Bloodreaver Gul'dan, Kazakus, Sacrificial Pact, Shadow word: Death, and more. Extremely good card for the Archetype.
The combination of above secrets has in my testing been more efficient than 2x Ice Block because you have a greater chance to bounce back after the block pop - instead of staying like a sitting duck. Additionally, the ice barrier helps to cover the block.
I could add more cards to this list, however, not all of these are self-contained, which is the reason for the designated cards and the segment.
Inspirational sources
The inspiration has been derived from HotMeowth's and TicTac_HS's existing versions of the deck in addition to the Kazakus builds!
Mulligan strategy
- It is okay to keep 1x Coldlight Oracle in the hand vs Priest; vs Warlock you have to keep Coldlight; in other matchups, you do not need the extra draw.
- Only keep a maximum of 1x Doomsayer in the hand.
- Always search for Arcanologist, Tar Creeper, and Dragon's Fury.
- Against Aggro search for Doomsayer, Dirty Rat.
- Keep Skulking Geist against Druids and Warlocks.
- Keep Polymorph against Warlocks.
- PLEASE, do not use Doomsayers against Control- and Cubelocks.
- Keep Blizzard against Paladins.
Final words
I know that people hide their thumbs-ups, but if you like the deck, do not forget to show your appreciation.
Changes
- Now is better against Tempo decks due to Meatwagon + Dragon's Fury combo searching Doomsayer.
- Added Weapon removal instead of 1x Flamestrike to help against unfavorable matchups such as the occasional mirror match and pesky Warlocks!
- Added 2x Kabal Courier.
- The deck was too greedy against Paladins and Mages. Made some defensive changes.

Very nice deck what are your thoughts on Arcane Tyrant in this deck? i feel like it would have good synergy with Frost Lich Jaina and the big spells a bit but i dont know what i would replace for it?
Hi, with what should I replace Dirty Rat? I know, that it's a 'high risk - high reward' kind of card, that can single-handedly win games. But, as rotation comes closer I have no interest in crafting it. Plus I spent all my dust on Dragoncaller Alanna. I've been thinking of adding Arcanologist and Ice Block, what do you think?
Okay, thank you. After some testing today, I came to similar conclusion. If game comes to fatigue, second Ice Block is a dead card. Though, versus aggro decks it can be *kind of* helpful.
Why no Familiar in this deck?
What's the point of wagon?
ye it's not like i needed that 400 dust anyway...... D:
I love this deck thanks for update
I'm relatively new to the game and have been struggling to rank up on my mage, which is where I've put all my focus in development. I've sacrificed almost every other class to get some better cards for her.
I just started with this deck yesterday and it is by FAR the most effective one I've used so far. Not to mention, it really seems to throw opponents off their game.
thank you for posting, do LIKE!
Nice deck. The idea behind Meat Wagon is brilliant, because if you can steal the tempo the game is almost won.
won like 6 games in a row last night log in today and im like 5wins 15 losses so far. Cant win to anything.
Druid and warlock never stop spamming minions, they flood the board or use big creatures that you have to remove and then they bring them back from the dead over and over lol
Shaman Spams and evolves minions if you dont kill them all in a single clear it never ends.
Paladin murlocks is too fast.
Rouge kingsbane is unwinnable unless you get a luck mill
Mage Hunters and Preists are the only things i can win against almost everytime but ive seen maybe 1 of each xD and warrior i havnt seen in like 100 games
Everyone just spams minions with all the clear this deck provides its not enough. Only way to win is by taking risks which makes this deck rely more on luck then most decks.
Just hit rogue's face with ur elemental and his Kingsbane is gonna be useless.
I love playing Kingsbane rogue but this shiat i just mentioned is tilting me sooo hard.
Maybe you don't know how to conserve board clears, conserve value etc. which is essential for this deck to work. If you don't know the deck, it's obvious you're going to lose the harder match ups. That being said, i don't like this guys list with meat wagon and stupid shit.
Any Priest can be outvalued.
Any Warlock can be outvalued, if you draw at least 1 morph early.
You will beat up any hunter, spell or minion by simply sitting defensively and clearing their shit.
You will beat any Paladin above 60% of the time by simply drawing mediocre AoE.
Kingsbane rogue will have a hard time, since you morph or rat their weapon buffs, and have a huge chance to at least hit 1 deadly poison with Gheist.
Druid is a free win literally unless you draw like dogshit vs aggro druid.
But with that being said, find a better list than this guys. It does not fit the meta, and has dumb shit in it.
I like to have one Spellbreaker in case you have not enough Polymorph
NICE winrate
Is there any way to beat Cubelocks (other than praying they don't draw properly)? I'm playing a similar version and want to try this one, doing kinda good vs everything else than Cubelock, lol :(
Playing this deck a little, i feel its really not good against Warlocks. They are able to put out too much damage with free Doomguards, which are also hard to clear due to their 7 health. Then for all your effort, Guldan on turn 10 just brings them all back. Together with the fact they have some amazing removal and can drop 8/8 giants on turn 4, BSM just seems to get destroyed by Warlocks.
I love the deck concept, but id hold off on playing BSM decks until control/cubelocks get nerfed.
Strange, I actually found this deck good against it. Usually comes down to exhaustion. But I think at the moment I’m 4-1 against cubelock
Id love to know how you deal with 8/8s on turn 4 followed by faceless manipulators or cubes on turn 5, whilst still keeping enough polymorphs to deal with Doomguard/Voidlords and Guldan on 10.
Well that’s the problem, you’re not going to. Polymorth the early game stuff. The 8/8s need to go. I usually will polymorphism the 8/8 right away. Don’t worry about the void lords. They’re not doing anything to you. The plan should be to take out anything that will do a lot of damage to you. Blizzard will stall for you, and they will most than likely go through their deck fast. They will have boards of 1/3s and 3/9s that that would be able to even put out another minion. They’re not going to kill you with Jaina out and they have 3/9s and 1/3 for the most part. Whenever you see them use their weapon, use dirty rat and then doomsayer. Eventually they won’t have much to deal dmg and you can use cold light to fatigue damage them and use your elemental to help sustain your life total. I did this on my phone, so I apologize for any errors in spelling or grammar.
After this month's ranked, i'll have enough dust to craft a legendary, but i'm not certain what to craft.
Should I craft 2x Meteor, 1x Arcane Tyrant and 1x Ice Block or I can craft either Alexstrasza or Dragoncaller Alanna.
Which option should I choose?
