Witchwood updates still in testing phase!
Small changes involved.
K&C forced me to involve the strongest Paladin card into the control archetype. In this list recruit is a card ability which helps us remove low mana cards from our deck to draw high valued cards.
This list works very well for me. Currently I'm rank 6. On my mobile phone the winrate is even higher but I can not prove it.
Here you can watch some interesting plays and missplays against Jade Druid
Call to Arms pulls out three minions from Righteous Protector, Dire Wolf Alpha, Loot Hoarder, Plated Beetle, Wild Pyromancer. The last one no longer activates his effect after the spell was played, so it won't harm the board. At the beggining I was afraid that pulling out Wild Pyromancer would ruin my Equality combo, hovewer it's not noticeable.
If you can die the next turn, you can try Call to Arms + Equality combo.
UPDATE
There is a discussion in the comments about three cards. I will try to explain these picks.
Dire Wolf Alpha can be replaced by Dirty Rat but as I mentioned, I do not own him. However I find Dire Wolf Alpha attractive. It's a good turn 2 follow up after playing Righteous Protector (works the same with Wickerflame Burnbristle or Stonehill Defender), helps in trades with guys, makes trades difficult for the opponent after Call to Arms. Perhaps Dirty Rat is better but I rate Dire Wolf Alpha as useful.
Harrison Jones can be replaced. More than 1/4 of my games are against Tempo Rogue. I can't say how important is 5/4 draw 2 cards for 5 mana, but I'd rather have it, especially when Cube Lock is going to be the best deck soon.
Benevolent Djinn is the most surprising one. I belived that 2/4 stats are too weak to be played. Now I think I was wrong. For sure it's not an early game card. It's another card which makes your opponent uncomfortable. Played with a taunt, forces aggro to trade the board. Against Secret Mage without Aluneth it's the easiest way to outheal his burst. Benevolent Djinn is probably replaceable but I like how it's designed and I can use it's strenght during the combat.
Many ways to heal is a perfect answer against such decks as Highlander Priest or Secret Burn Mage. Thanks to Call to Arms they have to somehow deal with your board and as long as they run out of threats, there is no possibility to die.
Wickerflame Burnbristle stops aggro decks for a while. Stonehill Defender have proved his usefulness through the expansions. In my opinion the best taunt discover pick still is Sunkeeper Tarim.
People are not playing around Consecration. Use it with Equality or Wild Pyromancer.
Elise the Trailblazer have been barely seen these days. However, together with Harrison Jones, they fulfill the lack of paladin's 5 mana drops. Skull of the Man'ari is enough to run a weapon destroyer. Un'Goro Pack is a decent reward especially when you are low on cards.
Sunkeeper Tarim, The Lich King and Tirion Fordring have such a huge impact when they enter the board that the enemies instantly concede.
Uther of the Ebon Blade is underrated. In certain matchups I sometimes keep him in my opening hand. Grave Vengeance guarantees you joy, happiness and dead enemies. Turn 9 you obtain 5 armor, a possibiity to remove one threat/heal for additional 5 and a cool looking hero. The Four Horsemen won't bring you a fancy lethal, but 2/2 guys > 1/1 guys. You also gain a psychological advantage.
I'm aware that there are better decks. Although you play against people, not cards.
Mulligan
God tier: Call to Arms
Happy tier: Righteous Protector, Plated Beetle, Loot Hoarder
I'm ok with it: Stonehill Defender, Wickerflame Burnbristle
Situational: Wild Pyromancer, Equality, Consecration, Spellbreaker, Harrison Jones, Sunkeeper Tarim, Uther of the Ebon Blade
Definitely not: Forbidden Healing, The Lich King, Tirion Fordring
ok after like 15 games with this deck i have made some changes to what is in it so as to fit the current meta, and they are a tad strange so bear with me but they do work in my experience
-2 Call to Arms because i found it was pulling my pyromancers and i need those to reliably board clear.
-2 Vicious Scalehide since we don't have Call to Arms anymore these aren't needed
-1 Spikeridged Steed too slow and silences are popular right now
-1 Skulking Geist not really needed in this meta anymore
+2 Witchwood Piper reliable minion draw with a decent body
+1 Aldor Peacekeeper nice control card can keep things from the early game spinning out of control
+1 Lay on Hands nice emergency card draw and heal that can also feed Lesser Pearl Spellstone
and for the wierd one its +2 Lesser Pearl Spellstone you are healing so much from yourBenevolent Djinn and Uther of the Ebon Blade that it kinda just ramps up in your hand that its a 2 mana 6/6 almost all the time
Replacement for other of ebon blade?
I don't play this deck atm so I don't even know it fits in Witchwood meta :(
If you do not have Uther, which I rated as essential in K&C, you can also remove Blackwald Pixie. Maybe some weapons or Spikeridged Steed. You have to experiment because I do not have as much time now. If I play I'm having a good time with Lyra Combo Priest with Countess Ashmore which I'm going to annouce soon after gathering more data.
Zola the Gorgon + Lynessa Sunsorrow ftw
Very fun deck to play ^^ thanks mate!
I added Knife Juggler in the place of Harrison Jones, should I craft Harrison? Love this Deck BTW!
I put Harrison Jones everywhere because I like this card. If you do not have problems against Skull of the Man'ari, then do not bother. Adjust everything to your own experiences!
No weapons?
5% warlocks sure give results thats are more to the the february meta as the ladder is like 30-40% warlocks and im sure that deck does nothing vs control or cube lock even vs zoo lock im pretty sure it loses most of time
I do not have enough data to answer as I would like to but zoo does not seem like a favorit here. Both games I publish below are Prince Keleseth turn 2.
Game 1
Game 2
There is a possibility to have an aggro opening with my deck so the games against control/cube warlock can end quickly. Although if you want to know how does it work in longer games...
27 turn game against Control Warlock
Getting wrecked against Cube Lock
The very last replay is also one of the first games with this deck. I see some missplays but I would lose anyway. After my exams I'm going to hit the ladder again so I'm going to update winratio and probably add some more informations about matchups. Corridor Creeper is going to disappear which provides some space for tech cards against cubelock.
That makes CTA worse though.
Really fun deck!
I would love to try but I don't have them in my collection :(
Hate to say it, but aggro paladin outclasses this in every way. It even costs less dust. Maybe the new expansion in april could bring a future for control(ish) paladin in standard, but for now, if you want to use a good paladin deck, stick with aggro or murloc paladin
Murloc paladin is tough to beat, but aggro paladin is probably the easiest matchup.
Not talking about head to head, despite the fact that this deck would lose that matchup. Overall in the meta aggro and murloc paladin are just far better in every way
So it seems that I'm the best player at hearthstone. Not only I'm laddering with a bad deck, I also win unwinnable matchups.
Guys DO NOT CRAFT THIS DECK. There is only one recipe to win. I haven't seen any pro player playing this so... you know what it means (it's bad).
I'm glad that you came here just to constructively criticize. However until I'm the only one person playing the list, I'm going to win games even without your blessing.
Tar Creeper? Maybe you should consider a tech card.
I pressed the reply button before you edited so Tar Creeper was a suggestion XD
If the main enemy you face is Mage, go for Eater of Secrets, but I would try mentioned Tar Creeper first.
While worse than the other tech cards is try zola if you have her
It's nice having extra packs or extra what ever depending on the situation
Also acidic ooze is nice vs warlock and rouge
