The recruit mechanic is really good in this boss fight as minions recruited retain their full stats.
The deck is built around Silver Vanguard and Violet Wurm (both commons).
Starting hand
Your starting hand should be Silver Vanguard and ideally Bonemare or Frost Shock. Make sure you don't draw both Violet Wurms. Just mulligan everything.
The fight
Turn 1 drop down the Silver Vanguard. The boss should kill the wurm and fill the board with those grubs. From there, its all rng and topdecking good cards. Good cards to topdeck are Stormwind Champion, Bonemare and Bloodlust.
Cards to add
Add in minions that summon other minions as a battlecry. Good cards include Arcanosmith, Doppelgangster and Grim Necromancer so when/if you do topdeck your Frostwolf Warlord, it will be fairly large.
Bonemare is an all-around good card. I dunno about Cobalt Scalebane as he needs taunts to hide behind.
I did it on my first try. This is also my first guide ever so the formatting might suck a little but I hope this was helpful!
Tommy J (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSmjrqVod1_sXqFl9AS4fRg/featured) has guides on all heroic bosses, although they are kinda outdated and does not include new cards post-Karazhan and includes cards that have been nerfed since e.g. Rockbiter Weapon.
Thank you all
Thanks for this. RNG was on my side after a few tries. Beat him in 3 turns.
Had a Skeleton from Skelemancer and an ogre from Big-Time Racketeer. On turn 3 I was able to play a Flametongue Totem between them and Windfury the Skeleton to finish him off.
Great deck! It worked so well I went and steam rolled him several times to see if it was a fluke. Definitely swap the Stormpike Commando for the Fire Elemental. I did recruit the Bonemare a time or two instead of the Violet Wurm so had to restart.

Thanks for all of you guys, won after few tried.
2nd try
Great Deck! Fun to play too. I only had one violet wyrm, but that’s all you need.
This is was a godsend for a newer player, the older guides use cards no longer available. Need more of these newer strategy guides. Well done.
It sucks that no one is posting any karazhan guides anymore, especially up to date budget decks. I'm glad I could help!
Thank you for this deck! I beat him in 1st try (turn 8), after many failed attempts with other decks. I restarted until I got Silver Vanguard in mulligan. I also got Bonemare and did it on the 7/7 Violet Wurm on turn 2. Great advice on the recruiting btw, I didn't know minions would keep their stats. I also added these cards: Ancestral Spirit (was gonna do that on Violet Wurm but it didn't come up), Sewer Crawler, Frostwolf Warlord (it became 7/7), Fungalmancer, Furbolg Mossbinder and Fire Elemental (which was great as I used it on his 3hp taunt :) )
You're welcome! When building the deck I had no idea recruiting would ignore the 1/1 debuff so I put wurm in for the deathrattle and silver vanguard to cheat it out in case I don't draw the wurm. When I noticed recruiting ignored 1/1, I just had to make a deck to help people out
