A card does not need to fit every single deck for it to be viable. Stop asking for more Dr. Booms

This card is there to enable the circle combo without having to sacrifice a valuable minion. It also can give a priest a quick ping to deal with a pesky enemy minion or trigger a deathrattle without the risk 

this effect requires other things in order to work, and thus the mana is the most important factor, as you need to play other stuff as well as this, enabling one turn combos that would never exist with auchenai alone. The fact that this card allows for new combos and possibilities makes it far more than "unnecessary".

And then again the way you say "Heals to damage = 2 mana" makes me believe you start every deck by adding doctor boom.

I just see it as making a shadow priest, without out having to run Shadowform, more consistent. like having a full enemy board 2 Circle of Healings in your hand and no Auchenai Soulpriest.. having one or 2 of these will make it more of a reliable clear since they got rid of lightbomb

Or we just go This Mindblast Mindblast Flashheal Flashheal for 20 damage with 2 mana to spare (Hero Power could do 2 to 4 damage depending on deck build) and then we don't need Emperor Thaurisan to hit any card. I just never liked Prophet Velen, so I never crafted him, but with this kind of decktype, we can easily run this OTK combo thing in a "Miracle Priest" deck because we now have a ton more consistency on pulling the combo. This could definitely see standard play.

That or, Thaurissan proc, Prophet Velen+this+flash Heal+flash Heal+hero power(upgraded or not with justicar) for 9 and 2-6 less damage but 1 less card and more control before the combo.(which is still 28 or 22 damage). Meaning you could try to merge it with an already existing priest archetype which does well in the early game(like dragon priest) to be sure to have the 2- 8 damage needed for lethal and maybe the element of surprise. Also, Malygos is a dragon(bonus). you don't need to go all in with limited card like mind blast. I would say combo priest will be in a great position if most priest core cards don't get nerfed.

Surprisingly this would only actually kill you if you were at or below 15 health. Which is pretty likely i will say but still interesting

well with this card rotating out it will probably be more corrupted heabot ?
