FREE MY BOY BLACK CAT, HE DID NOTHING WRONG

Hallfaming this is stupid, this is a decent standalone spell damage minion, my already weak falling stars mage just got weaker.

We're actually only one or two 5/7/9 cost spells away from a good Odd Big Mage deck, with Dragoncaller Alanna as a finisher. Right now all we have to power her is Dragon's Fury, Flamestrike, and Deck of Wonders (who is trash without Aluneth)

Unless you specifically want to run Baku the Mooneater, then you can still have even cost cards. At best you get a cheaper, slightly smaller Azure Drake, at worst you get a Soot Spewer. Plus since it has a tribe, it's now something you could end up with from a generated effect, and there are way worse things.

I like this card, but it really needs to stop knocking stuff off of my desk. 

Does anyone know, if you can draft this card in arena? I'm not getting a definitive answer on my search. I'm asking because this really is the only odd/even card, that is not complete garbage in arena and the cat is just really cute.

This card will be good in Wild, where they still have Arcane Blast and Forgotten Torch. Needs more help to be viable in Standard.

I will definitely give it a try in a odd cost control mage deck. 

Key cards for mage on even mana as others have mentioned.. it remains to be seen if the odd cost mage will even be viable

If odd mage ever become a thing black cat + flamestrike clears after an Alanna turn so this card will without a doubt be played, regardless it's overall high power level.

Looking through what we have, this card seems a lot better than it is. 

Arcane Missiles, Breath of Sindragosa, Dragon's Fury, Flamestrike, and Fireballs from Antionidas. 

Does spell damage work on secrets? If so, Explosive Runes. 

We need a couple of odd mage damage cards to come in with this. 

Good news is it synergizes with Upgraded hero power legendary. That doesn't suck. 

This minion's Spell Damage is useless.

First of all, it says "odd", that means you cant use Frostbolt and Fireball. 

Secondly, Bloodmage Thalnos is better if you are looking to AoE Spell Damage Buffer.

but you can run two, its a battlecry, so you can dig the same turn (without pinging and you can use the spelldmg withe the new spell) and the body is really good. i think you have to compare this to azure drake.

on the other hand you cant dig for secrets (2 mana 2/3), its more expensive and you cant run thalnos/valen/crow/loot horder.

-> good for tempo, maybe good for control mage

@Bloodshot0 For Control Mage, this card is STILL useless. Even-Cost cards like Doomsayer, Frostbolt, Primordinal Glyph, Fireball, Polymorph don't deserve to get removed from deck because of this silly cat. Drawing a card (cycling) is good, but Control Mage doesn't need to cycle her deck because it needs to stall the opponent to "fatigue win." 

I don't want to talk about Reno Mage because, Reno is 6-Mana :D

Edit: Azure Drake doesn't find his place right now except Tempo Mage, Miracle Rogue and some Druid/Warlock decks.

You CAN use it with Fireball... the ones from Archmage Antonidas

But yeah most of the class specifics seem to clash with the Hero Power legendaries and the class they come with. 

@Sirsir Antonidas cannot be used right now because the only way getting value from him was using Spare-Parts and 1-cost spells.

Spare Parts are out of meta and almost all of 1-cost spells are useless in current Standart meta. Besides, if I am going to build a deck around Antonidas, that would be Exodia Mage, which doesn't need an extra Frostbolt or Fireball in deck slots.
