There might be a new type of control warrior that generates a lot of value with whirlwind effects, sudden genesis and blood warriors. This card might help the warrior to stay alive or trigger wild pyromancer which fits the deck pretty nicely.

Shield Slam does NOT need any more cards to be viable, it already has that(proven enough, time and time again) in the core set.
With the increased Taunt minion releases for Warrior, armor gain is the last thing you'll need.
Perhaps it'll be a "turn" saver through some kind of Discover luck. That's it though. Perhaps in the future, who knows. Maybe they'll make more armor synergy cards.

Posted Mar 31, 2017 (Aggro Downfall)Ya, the only way I see this being useful is if suddenly Warrior has some Gadgetzan Auctioneer variant. Even then... seems really hard to justify instead of or even along side Shield Block. Not a fan.
