Even in DMF nobody uses her, who is going to use it in the coming core set when they put frostbolt, blizzard and frost nova in wild?

For some kind of face mage in Wild maybe? Combined with cards like Frostbolt and Ice Lance, that's a very decent amount of face damage for very little mana.

Made for frost nova and blizzard, I guess.

Hmmmm have a hard time seeing this being played really. The design is cool enough, but would you really run this just for the freeze "value" when there is doomsayer and loads of other value removal options?

true! It's like a sinister strike if you run freeze mage. Together with frost bolt it's like a fireball. I don't really see mage needing this tbh. If you want to burst your opponent wouldn't you just use a spell for it?

Maybe it'll work like a new ice lance in standard and be the return of freeze mage, it's a nice 15 d for 8 if you run two + Frost bolt + fireball, but I think mage has better things to do really.

It is one damage less than ice lance but it is also WAY more versatile. Using ice lance for anything other than face damage feels really bad. Using this with frost nova feels really good.

Imagine, you can even play Frost nova + this and then frost bolt. For 3 aoe AND 3 face damage.

Insane potential. But can freeze mage exist without ice block?

I agree with everything you say friend, but the question is always "will you put it in your deck?" and if so, will that deck actually be good. It's easy to call everything a 5 star card because it has good value, but we both know that the community tends to be overly focused on dream scenarios. Remember safety inspector? I thought that it could be a powerful tool in some decks, one guy nominated it an auto include. It was never played! This card? Decent for sure, a few mage decks will probably run it, but that is a 50% score IMO

I hate freeze and now I hate it more
