Essentially a slow-working Echo of Medivh, which is one of my favorite cards.
I really think this card is simply too slow to be playable and thus listed it as bad.
If this were actually a merger of Ancestral Spirit and Echo of Medivh in that the Deathrratle was "Re-summon this minion" it would be bananas (and likely need to cost more like 6). The problem with this is you're spending 3 mana, presumably while you already have a board presence, to set up re-playing cards somewhere down the road. You're almost setting yourself up to taking two turns off unless you're talking about either taunt minions or battlecry minions. It just feels like it'll likely be too slow; Echo of Medivh was too slow and this is even slower. What's worse is with hero power being minions and what not, in the slower games you might want an effect like this for value, you might end up setting yourself up to going full-handed with a bunch of totems and what not.
The only thing that'll make this playable is jamming it in a deck with all extremely low curve Murlocs and going for the the quest.
I dunno, the ability to slam down an additional two Thing from Belows for free and get a few additional Jades (aya, Jade Spirit) might be worth it.
While the card is essentially a ''Bad Echo of Medivh'', I wouldn't go so far as listing it as ''bad'' in general, as Vernula said, Shaman gets a lot more use out of having minions sent back to the hand than Mage did thanks to Jade mechanics in particular, Mage dropping the same minion twice over the course of 2-3 turns wasn't necessarily that great and likely didn't justify the investment and often ended up clogging your hand which might already have been fairly heavy at that point, Shaman on the other hand, at least in my experience, empties out it's hand much more easily, and this ensures you have a viable play on later turns, not necessarily the next one, and in a more controlled way assuming your opponent doesn't just have some way to wipe/disable your entire board.
While it's definitely not a ''meta-defining'' card I think it likely that this card will see a fairly high amount of play as a throw-away card for a certain variety of decks
We are witnessing the return of the Crusher Shaman. And it will be glorious!
Lol so shaman gets a crappy Echo of Medivh xD
Megafin-into this=Double murloc dump, 10/10 i would pressure again!
I was trying to think up a joke name for this, combining Ancestral Spirit and Echo of Medivh but then I realized they did it for me
Also, this would be so sweet in Rogue! It's kind of hilarious how it seems whenever Rogue could use a little help in a department, they toss a new card or two to Shaman.
And now with Rogue's new quest, Shamans get a bounce that mitigates Rogue's obstacle of not being able to leave your quest minions up a turn because they'll die before you can keep bouncing them. Don't get me wrong, I love the direction Un'goro is pushing Shaman, but the irony of Thrall stealing all the crap Valeera wants is kind of hilarious
Good for elementals because of the
if you played a elemental last turn
you give an elemental this
it dies
play it again
wombo combo
I could see this being pretty powerful in Jade shaman. They can use it with beneficial totems, jade spirit, thing from below and immediately re-populate the entire board the following turn after a clear.
It's a cool card, but in my opinion at least, this feels more like a Rogue card than a Shaman card. Especially given the Rogue Quest.
I think the value you can get with Barnes is a pretty cool turn 6 or 7 play. I could see an OTK style deck playing around this interaction.
WHAT THE F***?!?
How does this react with Weasel Tunneler and Malorne?
Echo of Medivh says hello.
with Malorne it will send a copy to your hand and a copy to your deck. With the way weasel seems to work it'll put a weasel in your opponnents hand and deck.
