Synergy is always good, and this clearly is meant to be used with damaging spells to quickly clear an opponent's board. Quest hunter turns out, however, to really not need/want this, and that really isn't surprising considering Professor Slate saw only medium levels of inclusion itself. However, the effect is still a dangerous one, and it is also a spell to feed to spell-lovers, even if it doesn't deal damage, so I wouldn't write it off completely.
