This is pretty stupid , I don't know why blizz's card designers havent figured it out yet. Cards like this need subtext (Immune to Silence) .....that would make this a truly legendary card! It would still be vulnerable to poly hex or other destroy effects though.

why does everyone say to dust the new nat pagle, claiming it to be the worst legendary, when that card is actually playable in a lot of decks. This on the other hand is a worse version of Abomination in the majority of situations, and only slightly better in the other situations. Abomination has never ever seen constructed play, so this card will probably never see the light of day. It's a worse Boogeymonster. Let me explain to you why this card is so bad:

Ok, so you'd basically play this in "the dream" situation where your opponent has a board of big minions right? Because the obvious comparison in mage is to Flamestrike. When you're about to clear the board, you want to be able to clear it the turn before your opponent can attack with all of his minions, because they hit you for massive damage. When you use this, not only can you do nothing for the rest of your turn because it costs 8 mana, but your opponent gets to do that massive damage to you. And if your opponent has a board that has to be cleared with at least 5 damage and Abomination doesn't cut it, they're probably actually going to be able to kill you or activate your Ice Block the same turn. So on top of needing to have ice block up, and then healing to play after you clear them, your opponent also has to have a  minion with at least 6 damage and there has to be no taunt, so that situation will almost never happen. So "the dream" is that your opponent has a rare board, you have ice block up, and then you also have healing to play after they die. Your opponent's also probably going to have more than 8 damage on their board, so the fact that you have 8 is not going to scare them into trading into your guy. So if he doesn't die and clear the board, you're going to want to play other minions right? Wrong. Because if you're not already dead, your opponent is going to wait for you to overcommit and then they kill him so on top of them nearly killing you, they also get a big value trade. 

tl;dr just know that this is a bad card lol

I guess mages get shit on this expansion.
