I love his card for being neutral. Remember the priest card that acts as a keleseth? As soon you have that and this card, you can play them on the same turn. Both players loose tempo, but you have all minions +2/+2. I think a nice dragon priest will be OP.
A minion based deck that relies on a 9 mana engine that essentially does nothing the turn it's played. I like where your head is at but nah.
So you have to wait until turn 9 to play those exact cards, and then hope your opponent has won already doing something better
It's going to be nerfed soon.
THANK YOU, SIR! GACHIGASM CLAP
I love this, for me this is clearly a tech card for aggro and mid-range decks to deal with control decks, also can be played to counteract druids mana ramp. Imagine druid is getting to 10 mana turn with Ultimate Infestation in hand and you set the mana back to 5, and he has to wait additional 4 turns to play UI. Same with expensive deathknights and Shudderwock. You can just delay it for a few turns. This can turn terrible position int OK or even good, just by removing 3 or 4 mana crystals from both players.
It is bad tempo legendary tech card. It doesn't ruin decks, just gives a chance to fight against them, and the opponent will have "mana initiative" because he regains his crystals first. All in all card is bad by itself and can work only as addition to strong deck. I would even dare to say that combo and control deck may chose to play this card as well.
People are immediately thinking “Countering Druids” but I’m thinking “Trolling Mecha’thun Priests”
I don't get it; is the potion drinker fluffy, or are they drinking fluffy potions???
It will always be Fluffly Potion Drinker in my heart
Wait does it give you 5 full crystals? because if you can play a 4-5 drop alongside it, then it is actually decent...
I would assume it doesnt do that but if it did then that would be insane
We have an example of Living Mana
if you say have a minion on board, and play Living Mana to summon 6, it will destroy 6 of your crystals but you will still be able to use 4 crystals which will remain full not empty... So if this guys destroys 5 of your crystals, I would assume it would be 5 of the empty ones not the 4 filled ones if Blizzard is consistent about the mechanic of destroying crystals...
well it is unclear, because it says mana, not empty mana... but because it says set and not gain I would guess it doesn`t give you mana
Question is... Does it remove unused mana? =)
Though I suppose it only matters for buffing or bouncing the guy himself... Otherwise you play a 4 drop and then reset crystals...
I think that you will keep 5 "left-most" mana crystals, with unchanged state. Since this minion costs 6, you would have max 4 mana (enough to ramp).
It cannot give you 5 fresh mana crystals because it would be 1-mana 5/5 minion with a strong effect.
... also it would be abused by rouges (Sonya Shadowdancer, Lab Recruiter, Shadowstep etc).
yes that is what I said in my second comment with example of Living Mana, it basically works similar to Living Mana which was confirmed by Blizzard in some post it seems... if you use him on 6 mana you have no mana left, if you use him on 10 mana you have 4 left... but if you think about it... 4 drop and a 5/5 is pretty good turn when your opponent in restricted to only 6 mana, if you are not behind too much on tempo that is...
Well ooze their twig and then play this... And laugh... But card that is mostly only counters druid. This is too slow for aggro and midrange to counter control with it...
But lets say you're looking for your leeroy to push for lethal, you're vs big mage (if people still plays that) you're at turn 8, you play this, your opponent can't play jaina and save the day for another 4 turns, allowing you to potentially find it. It's obviously super slow, but it's a good tech nonetheless, kind of the same reasoning with having Hagtha in even shaman
