Maybe with tempo oriented meta season after season im too pessimistic (as a priest main) but I honestly dont see how this kind of deck, even how potentially broken it may seem can live in the same meta that also have Odd Pally, Zoolock and Token Druid. Then there are older archetypes that are getting more love, like quest mage getting closer to a comeback, I know its not there but yet..
I just feel this expansion will be just another: Oh look how many cool decks you could play if we cared two bits about balance.
Potentially every expansion pretty much since KOTFT have had cards that suggested options for new archetypes that could never live up the expectation.
Hearthstone is becoming blander and blander as a result and you see this with streamers jumping the ship to other more interactive and fun card games.
So you drop this guys x2... next turn Prophet Velen + Shadow Word: Death hopefully survive the tempo loss (But hey priest still has Psychic Scream)
and then after you draw both copies:
Eternal Servitude for Prophet Velen
1 mana Prophet Velen
1 mana Prophet Velen
Radiant Elemental
Radiant Elemental
and 4x Mind Blast for 160 damage
Of course getting 2 extra mind blasts is mostly meme value expect maybe against Odd Warriors and Druids... So Radiant Elemental and additional copies of mind blast is not required, and you still can do 80 damage... and actually 40 with just a single mind blast or while missing one of the Velens...
This card is going to be absolutely off-the-wall broken in a whole series of decks. Not only does it give you massive value in the long-game and add to your fatigue count, but it also lets you generate 1-mana copies (not 1/1 versions) of powerful minions. For example, you can play this and a Prophet Velen on turn 8, pretty much ensuring that a 1-mana copy is going to be sent into your deck. Then, you Witchwood Piper next turn, play your Velen copy, Eternal Servitude for another velen, and Mind Blast + Holy Smite for 28 damage.
In a deathrattle priest, you can also use this to create an absurd number of Amaras, Obsidian Statues, and Lich Kings.
well in some cases it will be 1 mana version of Frog or Sheep sent into your deck... or maybe even Squirrel...
If a Squirrel were sent into my deck, I'd just concede out of respect for the guy for running Tinkmaster Overspark.
Hey Tinkmaster Overspark was run to counter Witching Hour at some point =)
drop the totem, Leeroy Jenkins, Vivid Nightmare and trade to get two leeroys that cost 1 mana ez 12 damage
Well, you fist have to draw it, then to play it, then to kill a minion, then to draw the minion, then to draw the cards that have synergy with this minion, then to play the whole combo that you want to do...
In Big Priest, this would let you get bigass 1-drops. But this dude existing in the deck screws up its other shenanigans. Is it weird that this card wants to be in a deck that would hate to have it?
hmm, well it is to slow for big preist so you wouldnt see it in a regular big pirest
I can see this card to have big potential in quest priest. You get a big bunch of deathrattles with this back in your deck. Amara+Zola, and then this on the field. if he can't kill the stealthed minion, you might be able to kill off at least zola and maybe amara too, get back in your deck, and you have an nearly unlimited amara-combo. This + Reno, shuffled back in your deck and so on...
Heck, even Test Subject might have some interesting combo with this; althrough to abuse this would be pretty hard.
Some notable synergies that shouldn't be overlooked are Augmented Elekk and Witchwood Piper. Also, two of these on board should mean two cards get shuffled in. Might not make for a competitive deck without a lot of work, but I love the build-around potential of this card.
Seems like this is one of the main reasons you'd want to play control priest after the set rotations. Probably won't see play immediately but will definitely be good when control decks are playable again
Yea. We might have to wait till March/April for next set to come but priest era is coming back sooner or later.
I don't see this working in the manner of getting high value cards to be shuffled back into your deck. Or at least those situations will be far more rare. This is definitely a good card, but gotta keep realistic for what minions it will actually affect or if there will be a combo application. Best I could potentially see for now is a resurrection Priest style deck where you could kill off your own minion if need be while Spirit of the Dead is played onto the board. You then end up with a valuable minion in your dead pool and a 1 cost in your deck.
So far, all spirits are softtaunts with Stealth, which is kinda creepy imo.
ahha ressurcrect a 0/3 op
Somehow shuffle Velen with Spirit of the Dead into the deck.
Draw the 1-cost Velen.
Play: Velen (1) + Vivid Nightmare (3) + Vivid Nightmare (3) + Mind Blast (2) = 9 mana and 40 damage
For Odd Warrior or Druid: Radiant Elemental (2) + Velen (1) + Vivid Nightmare (2) + Vivid Nightmare (2) + Mind Blast (1) + Mind Blast (1) = 9 mana and 80 damage
Odd card, conceptually and literally, but the shenanigan potential is real, obviously synergizing with Bwonsamdi, the Dead. Excited to see what comes of it!
