I’m going to have to disagree. Reno Mage is really good if built right. With enough clears, you can handle even shaman and Frost Lich lets you outvalue most control decks including Renolock. Togwaggle and Mill Rogue are definitely issues but they might get overrun by mech decks this expansion so there might be a place for Reno Mage.
I've probably lost my mind but here it is:

Never thought I'd be the one that puts hearthstone and fun in the same sentence.
People keep thinking about standard - what about wild? Reno Mage will almost undoubtedly see this card played. But going back to standard for a minute...
I think there's a lot of potential in big mage and elemental mage. People are discounting book of specters - just don't cast it until you've already used Pocket Galaxy. Or you can flat out replace it with arcane intellect if you're that worried but you'll take a tempo hit. There's another OTK people are forgetting with Luna's galaxy - Alexstrasza and Malygos combined with spell damage would instantly kill someone. But the issue still arises of "what if you draw the minions first?" and I'm not sure I have a good answer yet. Perhaps playing them, shuffling in copies before casting PG? That doesn't sound viable. Theoretically though you could accomplish what malygos does with several smaller spell damage minions, leaving Alexstrasza as the lone keystone. Or you could Faceless Manipulator Malygos and open up a can of whoop-ass.
I'm interested in seeing where the rest of this set leads us.
Had a thought
Want a key way to help draw this card? Make it one of only two spells, or maybe THE only spell in your deck and run two Raven Familiars in it (Both reveal spells from deck, if yours is higher cost, draw it). You'll either draw LPG normally, or use a bird to draw it providing your opponent isn't playing spiteful druid (in which case 10 mana > 7)
I have a deck already in mind. Going to theorycraft it and share it here soon
Welp, looks like minion Mage is gonna be crushing it late game.
People say this is "turn 7 do nothing" but plenty of classes skip turns, play cards that do nothing they're played, cost lots of mana but do very little and more. Anyone saying it's a do nothing is ignorant of all the other "do nothing" cards that have existed and seen plenty of play.
Priest/Hunter Deathknights with no battlecry targets are a great example of a card doing nothing when it's played but with value over time.
yeah especially mage. they have a lot of turns that "do nothing" and you can combo this with nova which is nice
Sooo true. The community loves to dismiss powerful effects and cards because theyre so obessed with tempo.
People you don't have to skip a turn evety time. You can have this effect on a 4/7 which is Grand Archivist.
I assume that minions shuffled into your deck after casting the spell do not cost one, otherwise it would be worded like Crystal Core and say "for the rest of the game." Is this correct? Apologies for my lack of understanding on the wording.
Yes this is correct. It is like Barnabus the Stomper effect.
Has insane synergy with Stargazer Luna herself. But mediocre synergy with Book of Specters as book might discard this. And there is Grand Archivist too. But then you definitely don't run the book but you run some card draw minions instead.
Well... turn 7 'do nothing'. Your opponent has to be AFK so this card can reach it's full potential. And if you've drawn your combo pieces this becomes useless. Blergh.
Why they do this to game? This card with Archmage Antonidas is completly broken. U can get so many fire ball, that it will be insta concede for oponent. That how u make unbalanced and unfun game. Blizzard just don t give us so op card, couse it s make hearthstone boring to play, cause u play only against this same op deck.
U just don t have any answer on this combo :((((
You do know minions and spells aren't the same thing, right?
I say a pocket galaxy its quite cheap for 7 mana
I'd like to let you know that this is an indirect powercreep to Open the Waygate.
Put Luna's Pocket Galaxy, Archmage Antonidas, 2x Sorcerer's Apprentice, 2x Molten Reflection, and a general Freeze Mage/Control Mage shell into a deck.
Pocket Galaxy your Antonidas (Apprentices as well for style points), Apprentice #1, Apprentice #2, Reflection, Reflection, ...?, Profit. All for 8 mana (excluding Pocket Galaxy) at most. Throw in Baleful Banker if RNG keeps drawing you Antonidas before Pocket Galaxy.
Compared to a Waygate deck (which hit mid Tier 2 at its best in Tempostorm's lists), A Pocket Galaxy deck would allow for much better flexibility. Quest Mage was never Tier 1 due to how 'narrow' it was. It only had one win condition, which made the deck extremely hard to win with if something went wrong. It was also super vulnerable to Aggro, despite still having Ice Block then. The fact that you needed to fulfill the quest by putting in cards like Cabalist's Tome also hurt the decks flexibility by a ton. This theorized Pocket Galaxy deck only has 6 true combo pieces, so the rest of the deck could be anything. You could throw in The Lich King, Sindragosa, Frost Lich Jaina and so on without worrying about hurting your deck's main combo.
Love the deck concept! The Baleful Banker is a nice backup to address the drawing order. There are a lot of ways to build this with different drawing tools. There's the "Big Spell" archetype that would discourage Arcane Intellect, but makes Dragoncaller Alanna a nice win condition. There's elemental synergies that might fit in the same package. Now's a great time for a mage deck that needs a ton of card draw.
Honestly, i dont know about OTK or whatever, but on the "control/big spell/dk/otherstuff" mage that is currently the best mage deck, it can be a nice addition to replace one of the flamestrike, since the deck has already shit tons of AOE, and you almost never need to clear board cuz dragon's fury does an amazing job anyway. Also, a lot of times against other controls deck you see youself spending entire turns using high mana spells on empty boards, simply cuz your opponent is waiting you do something aswell and you are building your alaana. After writing this much, i expect to see a good card from this if the meta doesn't shift to some aggro bullshit
Might not be worth it to replace a powerful board clear with this card though. Normally, just a Baron Geddon after playing Frost Lich Jaina is threatening enough on its own. Most lists don't even run that many minions actually, and the biggest ones are just Sindragosa and Dragoncaller Alanna.
