reminds me of graceful charity from yugioh
but with spells
This card has the potential to be sleeper-op in future expansions. We have seen minion-heavy mage decks in the past (Mech Mage), and one of the crippling weakness of that deck was if you fail to gain control of the early game you just lose since you have no card draw. This card allows for a backup plan if your early game plans failed. Of course this only happens if we get a strong minion-archtype like Mechs, but if we do then watch out for this card.
And then everyone's head exploded at the same time.
hmmm... might be work on elemental/deathrattle deck that focus on Dorian (also +umbra maybe if you choose many deathrattle).
Turn 7, you put dorian, then use this card to draw 3 minion that instantly summoned by dorian. i believe someone will built this deck.
anyway do we have Elemental with Rush? so we can control board with minimum spell
This is a great card. If you hit 3/3 minions is Super Value, if you hit 2/3 its pretty good for 2 mana (draw 2 minions) and even if it hits only 1 is not that bad, in most cases cards like Commanding Shout or Flare are used to draw just that card. If it hits 0 its a fkn disaster.
I am kinda disappointed. We might underestimate this card but it just seems as not fiting any mage deck as for now. Jaina is a spellcaster. It shouldn't be changed.
Great in arena, but that's pretty much it.
Could be pretty good in some wild decks like Mech Mage.
Probably pretty bad in arena actually, would kinda suck to discard you Flamestrikes and stuff like that.
No, draw is a premium effect in arena. This card is insane in arena. Spells are not nearly as common.
Man, talk about a ghost story!
Does this work in questless quest mage? For the combo to work you need to draw one sorcerers apprentice, archmage antinitus, leyline manipulator, molten reflection, and two simulacrum. Most of those are minions, and if you already have two simulations in your hand this thins your deck by 3. Losing some defensive spells sad but your speeding up your game plan by 3 truns. Also because this combo requires so many cards hand size is a real problem. When I get to the late stages of a game my hand is at ten cards so I can’t draw, and because I can’t draw much I have trouble finding the last few cards. This card will allow you to draw without picking up useless cards to clutter up your hand. I don’t think this is a good deck because it’s currently not a good deck and it’s losing ice blocks, but this card would be included in it.
Why is the card art reminds me of the old game called Heretic?
People trying to fit this in a deck
The last expansion we saw Hunter without minions. Now we see Mage without spells. Well done, Blizzard.
Fits perfect in my spell hunter deck
why mage and not warlock?
Tempo Elemental Mage deck with Frost Lich Jaina. Still not sure if this has enough support. Would love to be proven wrong.
no this card is not good. i know everyone is like OMG 2 mana draw 3 is insane, because it really is and i agree. but discarding and spell drawn HURTS ALOT for mage especially since all spells in mage are put then specifcaly for a reason and the majority of the time you can't afford to say... discard your poly, blizzard, flamestrike, ICEBLOCK, Dragon's Fury.
this is good in a deck with very few spells, if you're running a deck with big spells like big spell priest does with just amber and mindcontrol. but i can't see mage doing that because alot of their spells are super key to their kit and you'll almost always run at least 8 spells in your mage decks. example the current mage decks run 14 - 15 spells, HALF your deck is spells.
Good idea bad card because it's in the wrong class that depends on spells.
I try and look at it like Trump does Warlocks. Anything discarded was "at the bottom of your deck anyways". A card like this serves to get some minions in hand if needed at the sacrifice of spells, so you just have to know your deck and what you're going for. Mages don't have to be heavy spells all the time any more than hunter needs to be heavy minions all the time.
hmm but with that said throughout the history of HS mage as always had 10+ spells in the deck, but thing is when trump reviews discard for warlocks it's for a class that can utilize the discard mechanic so it works, plus warlock can tap to refill hand, there is a possibility you pay 2 mana burn 2 cards draw one which would be pretty bad tempo wise.
there are several spells that have become a staple in mage decks though. BUT with all this said This card is freakishly INSANE for arena This will almost Always draw 3 cards for 2 mana with no draw back in arena this card is top teir hands down.
