Splintergraft makes whatever you make a 10/10 cot 10 regardless of original cost right?
Seems like a great combo but I'm pretty sure happy ghoul has an in hand effect, meaning it has to be in your hand for the discount to be activated. So to pull this off you could probably do it your way with 10 mana and an extra voodoo doctor but then it becomes a 4 card combo and pretty hard to complete, good idea nonetheless.
HOW LONG CAN THIS GO ON?
Arcane Tyrant making a comeback in druid?
Could see limited play with cards that reduce their cost. Happy Ghoul, Corridor Creeper, Nerubian Prophet and Knight of the Wild and Molten Giant could all be played in the same turn as Splintergraft. Molten Giant is perhaps the one with the most promise, as, if on low health, could go 0 cost Molten Giant, Splintergraft, 10/10 0 cost Molten Giant, then double Earthen Scales for a 21 Armour gain. 5 card combo that drops an 2 8/8's, a 12/12 and gains 21 armor. It's a long shot, but fun to theorise, and with Branching Paths, Ferocious Howl and Oaken Summons, Druids have ways to pile on armor after dropping to low health. Will it be competitive? Probably not, but it will be fun to pull off.
Seems a bit slow. Unless you can find a way to generate some huge value from the 10/10.
Because he has depressions cuz he sucks.
quest
So basically Druid can get busted taunts. I can see a future meta called the Saronite Wall Druid. Summon a Saronite Chain Gang one turn, then Splintergraft it for two 10/10 taunts for 10 mana. Next turn play Zola the Gorgon and copy Splintergraft for another play for the double 10/10 Saronite Wall. In the end, you best be playing a lock with Twisting Nether otherwise, its game yo. Sure it's high cost, but within 4 turns, its game.
They would have to get that exact combo with one of the saronites alive on turn 8 and have the Splintergraft in hand. Thankfully there's plenty of stuff to Splintergraft, but playing that 10 mana 10/10 copy might be too slow. Especially with Druid losing a ramp card.
And this guy doesnt seem to understand that you play an 8/8 for 8 mana on a turn without taunt, which is far more than the price you want to pay to get a double 10/10 taunt for 10 mana, something that isn't even good in current meta... Do you realize @OrdinaryMagician that
You clearly misunderstand this card, it is not meant to beat aggro with huge taunt, but for slow matchups where you want to create big card value and additional threats to win the attrition game.
druid losing two ramp cards
Well dang. I guess I don't understand the card then. My bad, I did not realize as I'm still fairly new to the game. I play priest anyways but I guess that's my fault for posting on a Druid board lol. Rip
Edit: But yeah @Woody37, it would be pretty slow and a loss of ramp. What do you suggest as an alt for Splintergraft? I may or may not begin a Driud deck come the next expansion just to mess around with it.
@OrdinaryMagician I'm not a huge fan of Splintergraft, but he could certainly find a home in the new meta and prove me wrong. In my opinion, if he's going to succeed he'll need to do it in a Quest Druid Jungle Giants style package and/or use the Twig of the World Tree but even that feels too slow. You could work in a pretty cool combo with Aviana that makes that 10 mana 10/10 copy suddenly a 1 mana 10/10 copy, but with Kun the Forgotten King cycling out, breaking the Twig becomes your best bet at securing an OTK-esque combo. And that feels like A LOT of work. It also feels incredibly expensive with all the legendaries you need to have (or create).
If you're new-ish to the game and you don't have a lot of cards, I definitely don't recommend going down this path. It's intriguing, but if you have your heart set on Druid, I would recommend looking at aggro Druid, Baku Odd Druid (creating a deck of odd cards that synergize with Baku the Mooneater, or EZ Big Hand EZ Druid (if that actually becomes a thing...basically make a deck where your hand is always full and your cards all synergize with having a full hand). I'm not convinced that the latter two will become a thing, but I've been wrong about a lot of things in Hearthstone before. I'll surely take a closer look once all of the cards are revealed. Til then it's all just speculation anyway.
Saronite Chain Gang
Molten Giant here we come!
Charge? Token? ... A murloc?
Cool card, probably better in Wild than Standard. Maybe Big Druid will return and this, along with Zola the Gorgon, can refill your hand with additional threats. If the Standard meta is full of Warlock, it's possible Big Druid will work as a counter-queue if there is enough support for the archetype.
Stonetusk Boar + this on turn 9 doesn't seem too bad. A bit slow, but if opponent does not have lethal he has some stats on the board to deal with in addition to the threat of a 10/10 charge. Could easily set up a hard to avoid lethal.
Heck, you can use this on Corridor Creeper...
