Finally, Dragon Hunter gets the support card it needs
When your winged children refuse to fill the skies...
It should have read "costs (5)" instead of 0, at least then it could be used in big druid against aggro decks...
And an amazing artwork! That's wasted as well.
The artwork for this card could have been just a grey blob or something.
Duskfallen Aviana + Carnivorous Cube = Win
If they can't kill the on the board and have to use a spell which will lose their 0 cost card
Silence will suck thou
Too bad Firelands Portal is rotating out
Looks like they're continuing to push the "your opponent benefits from cards you play before you get to" Druid archetype
Facepalm.
what
So now we need 0 mana druid spell with "You opponent can't play cards next turn"? I'd love to think that this card has a potential to do something cool but it might just look like "lose me a game card". It might get druid some value against aggro decks with empty hands on turn 5, yeam but against any other deck it's just "I'll play this card instead of hiting concede button dude".
Another scenario with this card:
Turn 5:Duskfallen Aviana
Turn6:Your opponent plays a 0 mana strong card like Bloodreaver Gul'dan and then he plays Spellbreaker
I don't hate this, as a concept, but unless you cheat it out, it's really hard to make work. Maybe that's the point. Kind of like Emeriss, it's rewarding to use if you work hard at it, but can lose you the game if you don't master it. The problem with this is that an aggro deck will slap extra pressure on with this, and you'd need a miraculous turn 6 after to recover (maybe Ultimate Infestation into Spreading Plague?). Against control, you all but hand them the game with a powerful turn 6. I could see this as a very late game card to grind out extra tempo with a near full hand, and druid can often sit on dead cards without hurting like other classes, but it would take some solid reading of your opponent to work. Again, maybe that's the point. A slow skill based card, but it all depends on the meta, and I guess time will tell.
There is the Druid's Twig. If you happen to get yourself up to 10, play a an extreme board threat unit, break the twig, and play her you could very well have some kind of combo going. Dunno, it reminds me of the priest Dragon from the last expansion, Temporus.
We need to see more new Druid cards before we make any snap judgements. That said, if this card was STEALTHED, it would be so brokenly OP...wow.
Unless you can play here without playing her you get nothing from her effect because your opponent will just reap the rewards and then remove/silence her. Bad card is bad.
Hey Hearthstone Plays, I went ahead and made the thumbnail for your future "Hearthstone - Best of Duskfallen Aviana" video for you
This card is not very good, but I like it's design. Giving the opponent initiative to use the discount is really bad since more than likely they will use it to remove this card. Where this card shines is if the meta is not removal-heavy and the opponent has no board, then you could essentially cast UI the next turn and then play out more stuff you get from the UI draw, then you can just kill off your Aviana into presumably the big minion the opponent just played by using the discount. However that is very specific and in practice will create more disaster than victories. Still a cool card though.
It doesnt even give you immediate value after playing but instead gives this value to your opponent. Hope it will be playable somehow.
Not to be a downer, but come on! Ungoro was so cool!!! Then next year, the Witchwood. Things aren't bright, but maybe there will be some hope.
It has to be noted that hard casting this card will result in you not getting a 0 cost card until the next turn, if she survives and isn't silenced. The only card I can think of currently that would circumvent this is Alarm-o-bot. It's sort of like Temporus, but with no guarantee whatsoever.
