Yeeahh.... you don't have to just play Standard...
except the whole Hearthstone playerbase isn't made up of wild players so you can't just go off of this assumtion, example is that newer players to the game will probably stick to standard as it is easier to follow standards meta shifts than having all these cards for Wild.
the average player would play standard... so im basing this off of standard in value. even the majority of streamers and even trounaments are hosted in the standard format so....disagree all you like lol
And if i have to add to that even more.. really.. in wild format a board with no minions? LOL have you even seen how ridiculous wild is? and how sticky the majority of the card in wild are? you're talkin about a meme, and watch it will be a meme and you'll see it on trollden or those wtf hearthstone moments. but it's not gonna be a thing lol
Bouncing Blades and this on a turn that follows a successful Doomsayer means 24 damage to face.
Rotface didn't make the cut but with more cards that benefit mass Whirlwind effects we could see this concept pay off. I'm certainly interested in this but I'm not entirely convinced it'll all come together. If I had to call it now I'd say that this will be tested but will not achieve viable competitive play.
This really should have Taunt. Not only balance-wise (Quest warrior could use some help), but flavor-wise. It's a goddam turret, it sure as hell is a must destroy target in a battlefield.
I see this as a bad card. Its its ability is meh (3 damage to a random enemy means that it may well not hit the enemy hero if he has anything close to a full board), it doesn't have taunt, and cannot attack. Warrior cards that do damage to their own minions usually also add to them in some way (Inner Rage and Cruel Taskmaster) but we want those used on minions that can attack. As a minion it is of course vulnerable to hard counters, poisons, and as a 3/8 is rather poor for a 7 cost minion when silenced.
Unless warriors get something like the warlock's Shadowflame, this is just plain bad.
age of empires memories
you are not alone my friend
Suddenly Warpath makes sense
It looks bad and people are crying about warrior being pushed to trash tier again but this might actually work... Let's forget about even and odd stuff, "classic" control warrior can have a lot of self damage cards to make it work as a board clear but then... we still do have a lot of tools in this kind of warrior to clear board without paying 7 mana for this kind of minion. Trolden video incoming though.
If you think Control Warrior got cards that would be good in 2016, there is no way in Hell Warrior is going to be viable with garbage like Red band Wasp in a meta that summons Voidlords on turn 5!
While normally I think this card is just meh as it requires you to combo with it to get it to do stuff, but do to the idea that LordCoiris (sorry I don't know how to mention others without directly replying to them >_>), this card could be a decent finisher with the help of Bouncing Blade. Seeing as how both of these cards are odd, and because I remember everybody obsessed about the hype of Baku warrior, I think this combo possibly could make the deck good, hear me out.
So the biggest thing Warrior is losing in terms of even cards (In standard) are Blood Razor, Dead Man's Hand, Armorsmith, Scourgelord Garrosh, Execute and several other armor gain cards. Right off the bat all the armor gain cards aren't really needed as Tank up! does a good enough job keeping up consistent armor. As for Dead Man's Hand, this card is mostly used as it's the only way warrior can actually win, extending the games into fatigue/maximizing the value of the remaining cards. As for Blood Razor and Execute, these are the only big cards your actually losing out on (I might be missing one, if I do just tell me and I'll update the post). While Blood Razor can't really be replaced by a single card, Execute works similarly as Shield Slam, which while some lists are running 1 or two copies, plenty of them don't. Given the help of the 4 armor hero power, this easily makes Shield Slam a good enough single target removal.
The good thing about running Odds for warrior is that you get to keep cards such as Brawl, Reckless Flurry and Shield Block( I know I said armor gain is bad, but Shield Block has almost always been used just for cycling), all of which fit the control archetype.
As for the Blackhowl Gun Turret + Bouncing Blade combo does have it's downside (that of course there being another minion) you can exhaust your opponent and make it to the point where they don't have any minions in play (unless their paladin, which then you gotta use a weapon or something). Maybe this may just be me fearing of another 'interactive' deck, but I wouldn't sleep on this card.
RAGNAROS DIED FOR THIS
Community: *We want control warrior back!*
Blizzard: *Blackhowl Gun Turret*
Idk.
Why hello there Rotface, I see we have a common interest... (that interest is that they both like slapping themselves in the face)
Don't blame them guys, I know the truth :
Some developer/His son whined to Mommy Brode he never got to have fun making "pew pew" with Eydis Darkbane, so momma Brode told him don't worry i'll make a legendary tower just for you which will make a lot of "pew pew" to your opponent in Wild with Bouncing Blade !!
Nah. Play this turn 7. Turn 8 drop Bonemare
It may not be able to attack, but a 7/12 taunt that does 3 damage to a random enemy every time it gets hit is going to be pretty intimidating.
Full Art Golden Animation Please
It's pretty incredible, actually. Either we're all missing the true power of these shit cards, or Warrior and Shaman just got butched for the 2nd/3rd expansion in a row. They're clearly trying to enforce a new type of tempo Warrior with these cards, but so far we're really, really lacking that one or two great cards (e.g. Blood Razor) to make it viable.
I digress. I'll probably just end up not spending any money this time either, and instead keep disenchanting my old cards. I'd be happy to spend 50 bucks if the product was exciting AND held some actual promise for my favorite class, but it seems impossible for Blizzard to both introduce a new type of Warrior and/or reinforce control warrior. The first week will be fun, I guess.
