It's not that weird, Godfrey's battlecry must happen first only then can Brann activate it again, if it kills anything on the first trigger then it will still have to finish Godfrey's battlecry before Brann can activate it again
THIS IS WHAT YOU COULD HAVE USED!
Can't say I hate this current one tho
The one they used has him wielding his guns though, which is what I imagine the animation will show.
PISTOL BARRAGE
People act as if Twisting Nether doesn't exist in the classic set for one mana more. And many Warlock lists don't even run two of that, a FAR less situational card.
Very underrated comment
Unlinke nether, this gives tempo after clearing and can clear deathrattle resummons. This card seems mostly for wiping aggro boards, which you don't need a whole twisting nether for. This will likely be situationally better than twisting nether in the upcoming meta (it already would be in current)
Yeah true, but we need to take in the fact that this expansion is about odd and even cost cards. If you notice, most if not all good Warlock removal is even (Defile, Hellfire, Twisting Nether, Doomsayer), which obviously makes odd cost Warlock decks less good. Lord Godfrey doesn't make odd Warlock overpowered, but certainly more viable. This fits pretty well outside of odd or even decks too.
Twisting Nether clears the board and passes the turn to your opponent. You're playing Godfrey because you clear the board and pass the turn with a 4/4 body, to say nothing of the fact that clearing the board one turn earlier is a big deal. This guy is going to see play at some point in it's standard life.
Odd/even warlock will likely not be a thing, as too many key cards are at both costs (mana cheat is odd/hero card is even). Even then, upgraded warlock hero power is meh. Even would be far better, as one mana draw is powerful.
My point was not that the card is bad. It IS situationally better than Twisting. However, thats mostly against aggro, which you already have both defile and hellfire for. There are decks other than aggro in existance, that play heavier cards which would only be scratched by this card. My point is that you already have these other anti aggro aoe cards that are far more flexible, so would you really ALWAYS want to run this clunkier card? Especially with how much other stuff Warlock wants to run, and how little they are losing on rotation.
Guess who's playing Handlock the next few months? Everyone!
I feel like I'm being a negative nancy, saying Rebuke is a bad card earlier today, but this card just doesn't seem that good either. It is easily comparable to Defile, but 5 mana more expensive and with a 4/4 body attached to it. This card is also incredibly choppy, costing 7 mana while Defile is only at 2, letting it be cast earlier in the game and letting you shut out aggro decks early on before they can spiral out of control. There is some upsides to this card over defile, like it being odd costed so you can use Baku and other odd required cards with it (which honestly I don't feel is good), and it also plays around Counterspell, but this just does not feel like it justifies playing an overcosted defile.
This card could be playable if Warlock stops running early bridges for Defile such as Kobold Librarian, but given the current state of the class and in how it's only losing N'zoth, I don't feel this card is going to have a place in most cubelocks/control warlocks. What it gives you is strong and all, but is outclassed in almost all scenarios to a much cheaper card that you can run two of.
Edit: I misread the card and thought it said "enemy minions". Whoops. Still don't really think this card is going to be great.
Zeus! you will pay for this!
Broken is the definition of this card with 1 word !
should have been a mage :/
Hey, do you like using Defile ? Do you think it’s a bit too skill testing? Try Gilbert Gottfried- er uh... Lord Godfrey!
Warlock aint fuckin around.
It's official: I'm rerolling warlock this April.
Skull of the Man'ari on turn 5. On turn 6 have a Voidlord pulled by Man'ari, play Glinda Crowskin. On turn 7 play Lord Godfrey, and get a echo from Glinda. It is a bit complex, but possible I feel. This deck will need card draw in addition to hero powering.
