No, Rogue has so many powerful tempo options its just bad for the game to give them the additions. Tess will likely prove to be meta breaking. Even at 10 mana, its a N'Zoth with the potential to remove/buff the opponents/your board. It ceiling is insane. Rogue is going to be ok.
So in the reveal stream Peter Whalen stated that the echoes don't disappear at the end of turn like Unstable Evolution, so you're getting a random legendary and Face Collector back in your hand every time you play this. This makes it better than I originally thought when we all thought that the echoes would disappear.
What time did he say that? Because that would mean echo cards would pretty much be impossible to get rid of.
It was right after the Hagatha reveal. Frodan brought up Unstable Evolution possibly changing to Echo and that was when he said it.
I believe you have a slide misunderstanding. What I understand was that Peter Whalen said "... the Unstable Evolution -copy that you get has slightly different wording on it - lets you know it's going away at the end of the turn, echo don't". Meaning that Echo-cards do not specify they're going away at the end of the turn not meaning the card will not go away at the end of the turn.

Sonya + Collector + Shadowstep
Not bad in mill rogue with kings bane.
clip prediction
someone wil get nat pagle, millhouse and cho
just you guys wait
Random legendaries typically aren't very strong just ask Malchezar
"Dovie'andi se tovya sagain."
If Shadowstep doesn't go to the hall of fame this will be a machinegun
not really as it will only effect the first time you replay it and its only gonna clutter your hand with legendary minions you may not even be able to play effectively.
Though if some other rogue or neutral Echo card comes out that would be worth ShadowStepping that would be interesting to see.
Seems like another variant of Prince Malchezaar to me, it may improve weak decks but will only get in the way of stronger ones. If it was changed to discover a legendary minion instead, then it would be a useful card.
That one scary mf
The card itself isn't great, not the worst thing but not gonna be anything special, but the potential for more Echo Rogue cards and the idea that this could be part of a more control style rogue archtype they wanna create...well we will see.
Before people yell again about quest rogue: this card is way too slow. The only way this works without shadow step is to finish the quest on turn 8.
And that's way too slow. And especially since patches got nerfed it's far harder to play quest rogue competitively. Even with 2 shadowsteps, you still need to wait until turn 7 (or 6 if you have any coin too)
While you probably fill your hand with useless legendaries. Here i think that even the 3 mana 2/4 Taunt Echo minion is far better than this card.
Clear disappointment for me. Might be fun to play, but this dice is way to big for me.
This card is waaay too slow. However we don't know what other cards will available for rogue, and if this combo, or if their is a new cost reduction for rogue minions, or what synergy might look like with the echo ability. IE, spell that causes Echo effects to trigger twice etc. Could be useful late game, or even turn 6. That said...still not that impressed. We will see.
