Also, WHY this guy doesn't belch when you summon him or as he dies (and summons the Slime) I have no idea... That would be so awesome, and I think most players would love it! :)
Sen'jin Shieldmasta + Goldshire Footman. Not entirely sold on it yet, but it looks pretty cool.
The sum is definitely greater than its parts here. You can't use a single spell to remove them both (unless it's a hex/poly), and it's like summoning the footman "as an interrupt" (mtg speak).
This card absolutely wrecks. I had a game vs handlock yesterday, where I was playing as control warrior. He played both drakes, both mountain giants, and 1 molten giant one after another. He also used both sunfury's and 1 argus. I was able to deal with each and every one, using my hard removal and a black knight. I had a weapon equipped the entire game, and by this time I had him in Grom+Task range, both of which were in my hand the entire game. Well, the lock was able to keep me from having an opening to use Grom by using Loatheb (I was 1mana from lethal the turn after he played Loatheb) and Sludge Belchers. I actually had him at 4hp for no less than 5 rounds and just could not get through. By this time I had accumulated about 70 effective hp. Well, those 2 Belchers + the last Molten and argus were enough to prevent me from getting to his face. I had to concede after drawing every source of damage in my deck and having nothing left to get through the taunts.
TLDR: It's great against more than just aggro decks. This guy + Loatheb can make executing a kill combo involving minions extremely difficult.
Yeah, you're right. Looking back on it, my logic was kind of like saying that Harvest Golem is just River Crocolisk + Murloc Raider. I think he should see some pretty big play in control and possibly midrange alongside Loatheb.
Well, the golem is only better than the 2 you mentioned because a) it's a single card, and b) you can't use 1 spell to kill them both. The belcher is the same, BUT the fact that they're both taunts makes him soo much more valuable.
All 3 cards from the plague wing are wonderful, but the belchers + loatheb are just crazy.
I think I'll make a shaman deck with ancestral spirits, belchers, hogger, faceless, and the other large taunts. I love taunt decks. So satisfying to sit behind a wall all game and watch zoo struggle to make a dent.
Okay. After having played with this guy for a week, I'm convinced that he's the best neutral taunt in the game. Sorry, Sen'jin Shieldmasta; I love you and all, but this guy has you beat!
Alot stronger combined than you make out. Which is why there is 1, if not 2, in a LOT of current decks.
I call him 'Burpy' :)
My opinion of him went way up after actually playing him. Like I said, I wasn't quite sold on him, but it only took me a couple of games to realize his power.
+1 for 'Burpy' , lol
I still say they need to make him actually belch the slime out when he dies. A sound effect would suffice, but an animation would be amazing, lol.
starting to show some signs of slowing down rush decks it seems. I'm a little impressed so far...
Finally, a 5 mana taunter that's far superior to Fen Creeper.
Looks like it will replace Tazdingo in lots of decks.
Nope, this card costs 5 mana, too slow
Both are 3/5, and this card can be a easy target for a silence
I take back my comment. Safe to say he and Tadzingo can both coexist, as I've been running 2x of him AND 2x Senjins in my control Paladin deck atm. I like this card because unless there's a silence, he'll always require the opponent to use 2+ cards to get rid of him.
