blizzard needs to remove or change the Leeching Poison to make kingsbane a fair card
This feels almost unbeatable if the rogue gets lucky with their draws.
I'm not sure what if anything I'd do to it though, since it's a really cool design.
Maybe bump the cost up to limit it's best case scenarios and slow it down a bit? Heaven knows a Kingsbane deck can recover from some lost life quickly.
Infinite buff/recycle that cannot be countered? I don't know how one can call that cool design.
They need to make a card that can silence weapons. It's about time.
It's cool to be able to build a deck totally around an eternal weapon, and I enjoy playing the somewhat similar strategy with Spectral Cutlass. And I'd hate to have a repeat of Skulking Geist in a single card just killing an entire deck archetype. Regardless, Silencing a weapon would be hyper-niche compared to destroying them.
If this cost, say, 3 mana it'd at least take more time to start controlling the board, delay buffing it up, and make the Doomerang combo a little less hyper-efficient.
I think Kingsbane decks just need to be a bit slower.
Kingbane has an overall 43% winrate in all ranks right now. That last thing it needs right now is a nerf in any way, shape, or form.
That makes me think that there should be widespread nerfs to bring down the general power level of meta decks.
Nah Kingsbane is still a decent deck the meta is just too fast for it right with Baku rogue and paladin being a thing. Druids ramping up extremely fast. Once it gets better minions/weapon buffs it'll be really good
I'd like to see a weapon damage boosting spell aside from Deadly Poison and Tinker's Sharpsword Oil, but I'm worried that Blizzard will be reluctant to print it with Kingsbane around.
IMO Damage boosting spells aren't really made not because of Kingsbane. But because if we're being very real any spell costing 3 or more mana or more just for more damage on a weapon simply isn't strong enough to replace any current 3 or more mana cost cards right now. and if it's 2 mana or 1 and better then deadly poision it'll just power creep it. The best they can do it make minions like Buccaneer give weapon damage because high cost spells are too slow and expensive to run and low cost spell would mean too strong and blow deadly poison useless.
I think there's a niche for them with Spectral Cutlass and Kingsbane decks at least, and it could make other durable weapons more popular.
Maybe it could even be multipurpose like Tinker's Sharpsword Oil and summon a minion if you combo it.
I think Deadly Poison would be fair at 0 mana personally.
Reminds me of when blizz gutted blade flurry and destroyed oil rogue. "for more weapon options in expansions" meaning kingsbane
Expensive spells will still be used. Prep exists. Just means you have two cards devoted to the big weapon buff we're imagining, which is manageable for kingsbane/cutlass decks because they both never really run out of cards
How the fck this card was tested? One of the most retrded cards ever printed.
Nevermind, I wrote this long diatribe about how bad this card was, but I had been playing with Hench-Clan Thug in the decklist (erroneously because I can't read properly it seems). Hench-Clan is totally unsuited to the style of play. I still believe this card is weak and too reliant on Fal'dorei Strider to cinch a win by cheating out a board of 4/4s, but there is a possibility Kingsbane competes with Baku/Crystal Core more closely than I thought.
However, its main difficulty is overcoming the immense draws required. With Cavern Shinyfinder playing this costs 3 Mana; it better be worth much more than a hero power dagger.
Are you serious? If they don't get lifesteal, you just wreck them. WR is under 50% at best.
king's defender - the best counter
Gnomeferatu: That's a nice weapon you got there. Be a shame if something happened to it...
Rogue is my favorite class but this is beyond degenerate.
Guys I have a contrtol-type rogue deck... should I craft DK, KINGSBANE, or should I wait.
