The card cannot just have Deathrattle in its text, it must have a Deathrattle effect. IE, Journey Below doesnt count because it's discovering a deathrattle, the card itself doesn't have a Deathrattle effect.
They just added one. I am sure that it counts for weapons because in the past weapons deathrattles have worked with the 1/7 double deathrattle card.(KT I think)
...If this cost 4 instead of 5 I would consider it a discountAssassinate, as it is it would take good mid range board control to make this spell turly shine.
the problem is not completing the requirement. The problem if it's still useful once you get there.
Keep in mind you have to have this in hand to upgrade it, which means you probably need to mulligan for it if you ever want to finish the upgrade since most Rogue Deathrattlers are in the 2-4 mana spot.
At the end of the day...why do we even need this? We got Vilespine already and for whacky shenanigans we got the Poison giving dude from Frozen Throne.
They keep giving Deathhrattle rogue really obscure cards that serve no purpose at all. Like, what even is the win condition of a Deathrattle rogue deck? Am I supposed to play Jades...because I can do that without any other deathrattles just fine. Am I just supposed to Shadowstep N'zoth ad infinitum and win by grinding?
I hate when the're just forcing archetypes and don'T give any indication what the goal of those archetypes is supposed to be.
I feel like this would have been a better option. Just increase the number of copies you add to your hand via upgrade. No sense tossing in random minion destruction for Rogue when you could just build on an archetype that already exists.
Counting rogue's deathrattles in standart.. huckster xaril sherazin jade swarmer aya, 5-5 from kft.. and these spellstones instead of vilespine (or together?)
Could be slow control style, but will be tier 1-2? The question is.
5 mana clear the board without combo necessity? Sounds good, let's hope it will work good too.
Valeera the Hollow could turn the tier 3 version of this into Deadly Shot x 6
The mana cost is not that bad since with Valeera the Hollow's Shadow Reflection you can destroy 6 minions in the same turn.
About the wording... "up to 2" and "up to 3". If I have the lvl 3 version of the spellstone.
Will it:
a) Always destroy 3 minions, but can be played when the enemy has less than 3 minions?
b) Destroy 1, 2 or 3 minions at random?
Dark Bargain cannot be casted when the enemy has less than 2 minions, so this new wording is sure there to imply that you can cast it when they have less than 2/3 minions
Probably A -> spells that state damage/destroy 2 (see hunter 4drop arrows, warlock 3drop dark bargain) require there to be 2 minions in play.
