Whaaaat? KFC cards for lock are pretty good.
I love playing mage but I hope that printing this card means that Ice Block is gone.
It will be gone, at the start of the next standard year, so, we will have to wait another 4 months for it to be gone.
Elemental quest mage, can use this card and Ruby Spellstone, Steam Surger,Shimmering Tempest
Gather your Ice Blocks boys, its going to one-way trip to wild :>
Compared to most 1 mana drops for each class, this is underwhelming for a defensive card.
This is a great card and I think that it could have massive endgame value instead of being played for tempo. Imagine dropping two of these and a Flamestrike or Blizzard to clear the enemy board, gaining either 14 or 12 armor and making it very likely that at least one will survive until the next turn. We have all seen how much value Earthen Scales has generated, and this is arguably better for mages.
tempo mages everywhere nut in perfect unison
Gives Tempo Mage a sort of sustain (provided everything doesn't cost 0 with Apprentice) along with Aluneth allowing them to play the longer game.
Gives Elemental/Control Mage slight lategame sustain with stuff like Frost Nova and Blizzard to lead up to and build off of the Death Knight along with Ruby Spellstone adding fuel to that.
Gives Big Mage a method of surviving up to and past their big spells alongside Raven Familiar supplying them and Spiteful Summoner turning that elusive Pyroblast into Tyrantus.
Seems like this just kinda goes everywhere, and I'm certain I missed a deck or two. Because Mage can always use more good cards, amirite?
I don’t think the Defile will give multiple stacks of armor. Someone test this with Mana Addict, but I think it’s like Yogg in that “you” the player isn’t casting the spell again, the spell is casting itself. So you would only get 2 armor.
I just tested it. It works like I thought. The effects won’t trigger, therefore, the Defile will only grant two armor
not sure if people are reading it right, the armor is equal to cost not damage otherwise it would be broken. so forbidden flame would give 0 armor, as for defile i would assume each tick would grant 2 armor.
this is also an elemental so ruby spellstone is looking more viable.
Kappa
Every new card Mage ever gets (viable or not) is disigned to be obnoxious.
Turning 1 mana into an Elemental minion with 1 attack and 2 health with possible armor gaining ability since 2017.
: ^ )
Okay, another tool for elemental mage to help them survive until they can DK.
Synergy with Forbidden Flame kappa!
What's the interraction with Defile ?
what?
