@mshan, great hypothesis :)
Just saw the latest Mage reveal, and have come back to report that my prediction came true: hello, Deck of Wonders!
While it looks sexy, 6 Mana is a bit too high cost for Secret/Tempo Mage (Who dumps their hand fast to really benefit from the rapid card draw). And on Control/Exodia Mages, you pretty much always have a large hand already, and a non-stop 3 card draw is just going to overdraw you.
I am gonna rate it as just Playable. Need to see the rest of the expansion to decide.
I'm pretty sure the 3 durability allows it to run 3 times (kind of like the Atiesh). So not necessarily non-stop, but 9 card draw in 3 turns is definitely dangerous for overdraw.
One thing I was thinking (and maybe possible since we have barely seen any cards so far) is that mage may get an infinite card like Jade Idol. Otherwise you would probably need to run Prince Malchezaar just so you don't fatigue yourself to death.
nope, it isn't worded like that. It appears to truly mill you if you don't pay attention. I don't know whetever you can attack with your hero (has 0 attack after all).
Then again, imagine a Tempo Mage Deck with it. You can essentially remove the Arcane Intellect, though you still need to draw the weapon in a timely fashion....
I really like this in a tempo deck, first u play hydra on 5 and use that tempo gain to play this on six. Really looking forward to that :P
Feels like I've perhaps missed some information here. If someone could help me out?
Does the weapon lose durability per turn or does it stay there permanent?
as ben brode mentioned it doesn't los e durability
Thank you guys for the help.
1: "Alright, let's get this this rollin."
2: "6 cards for 6 mana, That's value right there."
3: "I hope I don't burn my Antonidas next turn."
4: "Son of a Bitch."
5: "HELP! I CAN'T GET IT OFF!"
"perhaps I can be of some assistance?"
Medivh! So kind of you to join me!
"My hand is too full"
Do you dare enough to let your opponent draw card until DEAD!! (Maybe not)
I'm gonna assume the weapon loses a charge whenever it procs, which means this would be in total 9 cards for 6 mana over the enxt 3 turns.
Honestly, when I first saw this I thought it could be great in Control mage since they don't have access to that much draw.
HOwever, this could possibly be insane in any combo or even aggro mage deck. If you find a turn to play this safely it could mean that you wouldn't have to worry about ccard draw for the rest of the game, which in tempo decks could be amazing. Depends on how much weapon removal people are going to run
This doesn't lose durability when it procs. You'll continuously draw until it gets removed.
Can you confirm this? I'm just asking :)
that makes it incredible in tempo/combo and pretty much useless in control then.
