Your T6: You play Aluneth.
Their T6/7: They play Harrison Jones.
Net result: You both drew 3 cards, they have a 5/4 and you have an empty board.
We Know every class is getting a legendary weapon. Harrison Jones is going to be in every top tier deck, with an Ooze or two accompanying him.
We'll surely see an increase in weapon removal tech at the start of the expansion but after that...? The first 2 weapons seem weaker than death knights and even those are not auto-include (only anduin, malfurion and gul'dan are in top tier decks). History may repeat, as with frozen throne, when everyone played lich king and then people started teching black knight but in the end both of those cards died down significantly.
Also, the designers aren't dumb, they must've realized anti-weapon tech completely counters them so they probably designed accordingly, maybe making them weaker overall or more build around.
Oh don't get me wrong, this is an extremely powerful card and will be a cornerstone of some Wild deck later, but all of these weapons are a horrendous dust investment for the first week/two weeks/month after the expansion comes out.
Calculating the Remaining Deck from Aluneth & reaching fatigue
(No Draw power in the whole game like Arcane Intellect)
Turn 1: 26 Deck
Turn 2: 25 Deck (Normal Draw [ND for short] -1)
Turn 3: 24 Deck (ND -1)
Turn 4: 23 Deck (ND -1)
Turn 5: 22 Deck (ND -1)
Turn 6: 18 Deck, The turn u Equip this card (ND -1, Aluneth Draw [AD for short] -3)
Turn 7: 14 Deck, (ND -1, AD -3)
Turn 8: 10 Deck, (ND -1, AD -3)
Turn 9: 6 Deck, (ND -1, AD -3)
Turn 10: 2 Deck, (ND -1, AD -3)
Turn 11: -2 Deck (ND -1, AD -3, Fatigue Dmg 1 + 2 = 3 Dmg)
Turn 12: -6 Deck (ND -1, AD -3, Fatigue Dmg 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 = 18 Dmg)
Turn 13: -10 Deck (ND -1, AD -3, Fatigue Dmg 7 + 8 + 9 + 10 = "Dead")
Drawing uses up durability. No more AD after nine cards, Turn 8 in your example.
it doesn't say that on the card, so I (and the rest of the useless people who downvoted you) assume you don't lose the durability each turn.
Could be good with flamewaker cheap spell spam in wild
At least this doesn't reqire stupid things to get value, like priest's one
Stupid things like running Shadowreaper Anduin and Raza the Chained?
He says about Dragon Soul.
An an Arcane Mage in WoW, this really pleases me. Arcane spells are so weak in HS but this is awesome, love it; I hope it talks to you like in WoW.
mage struggles a bit with draw so this will definitely see play. its really not uncommon in tempo mage to see them down to 1-2 cards every turn because they're busy burning
Comon man mage has some of the best draw options... They can draw a secret from their deck and lose no tempo and arcane intellect is good value for 3 mana. That's 4 draw cards in every deck.
whelp, guess 2 Oozes in every deck now.
Do you see Kirin Tor logo?
I guess exodia and freeze mage will like this. Although 6 mana draw 3 is a bit steep. You could easily mill yourself if you're not careful. Not to mention all the weapon removal in the game now. Seems like too much of a risk, unless there are cards that will benefit from drawing.
The down side of this card is you could mill yourself, or even burn your quest reward.
6 mana draw 3 cards is a huge tempo lose. Maybe freeze mage could utilize this.
I'm starting to suspect Mage might get class cards that will act similar to Benedictus and Jade Idol, but instead of the opponent's remaining deck or an army of infinite golems, what if the hypothetical cards involved stuffing your own deck with tons of additional spells and/or secrets?
Such a set of cards could mitigate Aluneth's fatiguing/milling risk, while also potentially making Glacial Mysteries an actually viable card for once.
(P.S. It would also give Warlock opponents an incentive to start including Rin in their decks too)
how can you burn your quest reward? The draw is end of turn?
