This card reminds of Rotface, another card I analyzed and reviewed.
Cindy here is an 8/8 for 8, fair. Summons 2 0/1's with a powerful Deathrattle.
This card is actually something that plays around meteor, as they probably don't want to give you random legendaries that would end up being two Tirions.
So, the list below is BEFORE this expansion hits as I'm unaware of what the remaining legendary minions/cards will be.
List of Legendaries, Wild and Standard:
Wild: 151, Average cost: 5-7 (72 Legendaries)
Standard: 90, Average Cost: 5-6. (24 Legendaries) It's worth noting there are also 12 9-Mana legendaries. These were the three highest scores, making them the three most likely.
Now to judge stats, effects, and immediate board presence of these random legendaries.
Each and every legendary has a special effect.
Battlecries for Standard: 38. Wild: 58. These, while situational, will probably still be quite good as they're card advantage and are often quite a fair body with a powerful effect. You could also get another Cindy. Infinite Value?
Deathrattles for Standard: 11. Wild: 25. There are many good Deathrattles, like two Tirions.
Taunts for Standard: 8. Wild: 13. A savior from our Pirate overlords.
Charge for Standard: Six. Wild: 8. You, as a mage, can now go FACE.
This card is just below meta defining. If her or the minions had Taunt, this would probably be a little busted.
But overall, Very good card. Definitely going to craft a Golden of her. 9/10.
Great card. Remember this gives you two targets for Frost Lich Jaina hero power
I was actually rating this card pretty low and slow/unusable until I looked at them side by side. That is actually a very nice combo that makes the Frozen Champions a bit better. Having to waste 2 mana to pop them seemed so wasteful for a "value" card until I realized you can just spend 2 mana to turn a 0/1 into a Water Elemental and give you a legendary. Pretty powerful!
Frozen Champion
I think this card has a decent value for a legendary, but there are many cases it can go wrong and be actually harmful to your strategy.
The best way to make this card work would be to give taunt to the tokens.
Bad card- 8/8 for 8 is not good, and the random legends are not at all discounted, and might have to come at a premium cost. Compare this to Medivh, the Guardian, which generates excellent value and must be answered immediately. Elise the Trailblazer generates a similar effect with much less investment and much greater value on the back end. This won't see competitive play. I'd love to be proved wrong.
8/8 for 8 is not bad. All 8/8 with low cost have their own Achilles' heel which can lose you game (burn cards from your deck, damage you, etc). This card is slow but don't have any negative effects.
I really like the artwork of this card. Also great art for recent mage legendaries Pyros and Inkmaster Solia. That alone justifies my fondness toward these cards.
Yeah and this card's only 8 mana so you're guaranteed to get at least one water elemental if you're at 10 mana
Too slow. 8 mana for a body on board that doesn't do anything that turn. The Frozen Champions don't have taunt so you have to invest your own resources into popping them. Then HOPE you get a good legendary. Then pay the mana cost of said legendary. Unless Mages get some sort of healing, you will most likely be dead before all of this. I want it to be good, but it probably won't be.
This is basically 10 mana summon an 8/8, Water Elemental, and add 2 random legendaries to your hand. The 2nd will be popped by your opponenent using a board clear or just trying to prevent a 2nd Water Elemental, or you pop it yourself next turn for said Water Elemental.
If you're looking for value, this seems pretty good.
In most cases it's hard to see this card out valuing Medivh, the Guardian. Only reason this card is even on par is because it plays around weapon removal.
There is also the fact that you don't need to combo with huge spells. Not all value decks will want Firelands Portal or Pyroblast, and you may not want to waste a Flamestrike just for the minion.
Also the dragon synergy might be relevant in the future.
Value deck w/o Firelands Portal? That card is the definition of value...
Can somebody explain me why Sindragosa is a mage card?
Might have something to do with the fact that she was featured prominently behind Jaina during the Knights of the Frozen Throne Cinematic.
Probably because Sindragosa was a blue dragon, and that species closely relates to mages? Consider Kalecgos and Jaina :P
because sindragosa was the lich kings dragon and this expansion is bent so jaina became the lich queen instead
Might see Molten Reflection used with either the Frozen Champion or if ahead Sindragosa herself
