Blizz keeps dreaming that even the most pro of warlocks , discard cards ...
The entire discard card is really lame + has a huge disadvantage , The fact is even if you run this in a discard deck you will risk discarding the card itself
Anyways another bad warlock legendary for us
Well... It's not enough to make it good on its own but we DO have Cruel Dinomancer. If Dinomancer brings back this card, then it should still have the bonus attack since the texts says "For every minion you've discarded this game" and not something like Bolvar where it needs to be in your hand. Kinda like how if a Shaman got a Thing From Below from Lotus Agents, it'd still get discounted for each totem played so far that game. I'm not gonna say that it makes the card or the archetype good, just an interesting thing to think about. I think a discard archetype can work for something other than aggro if they put more safety nets like Dinomancer instead of giving the discard cards themselves incredibly aggressive effects to compensate for the lost card. If such a thing as a slower paced discard warlock were to exist, it would likely be running light amounts of minions so Dinomancer would be fairly likely to bring back that Doomguard, Felhunter or Blood Queen that got discarded. That, and if you discard Dinomancer, then the other Dinomancer brings back Dinomancer which brings back Dinomancer which brings back...
Discard mechanic in HS is not viable. Just look at Succubus and Totem Golem, Blizzard thinks discard is better than Overload. They need to change discard mechanic or create more cards like Silverware Golem.
If they add "Can't be discarded." to this card, it MAY BE played.
Lifesteal is very necessary for Warlocks right now but this card could only work in a control warlock decks which don't exist in standard anymore. May be it could be useful in the future with new cards but right now it is a dead card for a dead class. Just play Darkshire Councilman for 3 mana instead. You don't need lifesteal if you go face.
I'll see you guys at legend with Discardlock Kappa
I thought they said they wanted to not give too much into one "type"? and yet, here we are, third legendary for the worst type of the current worst class.
This is pretty much bolvar just much slower with lifesteal added to it, won't see play unless they release something craazy discard related.
It's faster than Bolvar...Bolvar needs to be in your hand and this doesn't. Also, if it is discarded it keeps the attack when deathrattled off of the Dinomancer since its effect is not a battlecry. This card is a great addition to the slower version of quest lock. If that deck gets another life gain card or something it will be a solid deck.
Cons : you can discard this legendary
Pros : - if you didn't draw it and draw it later it will be really useful
- you can us Cruel Dinomancer to summon her back again if you discard her
- because you discard alot you also use your hero power alot so this cause you alot of health , with this card you can heal good amount of hp back
yes resummon her with that dinomancer so she can be a 1/6
The way the text is written, and the fact it's not a battlecry would imply the effect is constant, so she would in theory still scale even if she didn't start in a player's deck.
Should've been more generous with the stats, discolock needs all the help it can get and then some to even come close to viable...
It needs charge, lets be real, its going to die whenever its on board.
Yeah, thought they would have learned from Bolvar Fordragon.
I'm pretty sure Bolvar would've been utter cancer if it had charge.
4 Mana 7/7 is still better
Interesting. It has a healing factor that is better upon sacrifice. That is very fitting thematically for Warlock.
Alright, so this is terrible. Since Discard isn't much more than RNG rolls, this will see little to no play unless you can magically choose what you discard. Sure, it'll have a story, but it's not going to get you anywhere on ladder.
After seeing this, here is my Warlock Hero card prediction: 10 Mana, Battlecry: Summon all discarded minions, and add any discard spells back to your hand, Hero Power (Passive Ability): When playing a card with Discard, choose a card from your hand to discard.
Also, I really wanted to craft the last two Warlock legendaries and didn't. Right now, I really want to craft all three and see where this archetype goes, just because I am a fan of the risk-reward play style of Warlock.
Discard Warlock will never work given how the discard mechanic works. Having no control over what you discard means that whether the deck works or not is entirely dependent on the luck of your discards. Unless they release a card that has Warlock get control over what they discard, or they give that ability to the mechanic entirely, stuff like this is never going to be viable. I wish it was viable, my main CCG deck before Hearthstone was a Dark World deck in Yu-Gi-Oh, a deck entirely based around discarding Dark World monsters for strong effects (often summoning them or some form of targeted removal.) A deck based on discards can work, but only if Warlock can have an entire deck based around it and he can choose what to discard.
