Well, at the newly buffed 1 mana... this is pretty sweet. In a beast build playing this on turn 1 feels great.
It's basically a 1 mana -> draw 3*

The one hope this card has is with Dire Frenzy and Northshire Farmer, in a deck that runs specific cheap beasts, and I don't mean Elwynn Boar. Wolpertinger, or Sunscale Raptor, plus some of the token-generators available to hunter, and Devouring Swarm.
Weasel Tunneler might be funny in wild.
First thought: Diving gryphon + springpaw. Combine it also with starving buzzard and it becomes very good card draw / card cycle with 1/1 bonus stat on the extra draw from this card. So for a more controllish hunter it could provide maybe?!
Second thought: token hunter focussing on cheap minions in combination with secrets like snake trap and pack tactics.
It's SO SLOW. Watching it played during the theorycrafting streams was like watching paint dry.
Hunter has much more efficient ways to use the weapon slot, so it can't really afford to hold on to this dumb thing for multiple turns. If rats really take off somehow, you might be OK playing this right before you trade a bunch in, but it still seems iffy.
It's a 2 cost draw 3 and give them +1/+1, but it's pretty slow in pulling that off. Hunter can't afford to give up the tempo needed for this right now, I'm thinking.
