it's viable
You can use other tools for drawing. For example, Nightshade Matron and Safety Inspector. And you can expect tradeable removal for warlock. Tradeable cards are just bananas with this archetype for surviving long enough.
I really don’t expect it to be T1 though, but it won’t be garbage, remember what I’m saying haha. Warlock has enough lifesteal and draw to make this work.
AND, you probably won’t need the double backfire combo most of the times. Just one will be enough for a big burst of damage, since it’d be 15 damage (20 if you were already in fatigue). I call that a god damn finisher.

They missed all of the other rewards for the questline here lol, same happened with the mage one. The effect isn't just dealing lifesteal damage lol.
I believe this smells like a nerf to me. There's a possible OTK with only 2 cards. Just play 2 Backfire and a hero power and you're done. They should add a limit to the amount of damage. Otherwise it'll be disgusting and quite hard to play around other than "just sm0rc and win on turn 5".
Don't you have to play second and third part of the quest again from scratch or is it additive? If the latter then this is insane but my assumption was that you'd have to damage yourself for 6 first, then again for 7 and again for 8. If it worked like you describe, you damage yourself for 8 total, hit the enemy for 9 and get 9 heal out of that and that would be totally broken.
You didn't understand me. When you complete the quest, you get Blightborn Tamsin. When you play it, all of the damage done during your turn, will be done to the opponent instead. When you play Blightborn Tamsin, you have to reach to fatigue and THEN you have t he OTK I said.
Check on out of cards, here sometimes they're lazy and don't put tokens or rewards from cards.

You don't have to replay the quest. (The tokens for the second and third part don't cost anything on playhearthstone) but I doubt damage from the first part carries over to the second part or the second part to the third. (i.e. the first part needs you to take 6 damage, but if you take 7 in one go, it won't count towards the second phase of the questline)
You also need to take a total of 21 damage on your turn. Which is... a lot of damage that you're dealing to yourself.
The current Neeru deck uses a lot of healing and also empties your deck quite easily. This could be done in a similar deck.
OK, yeah, I get what you meant now. I thought you meant to complete the quest you just play backfire twice but that clearly won't be enough. When you add up the damage, the total is 21 to self, with 9 recovery for 12 net loss overall. In the meantime, you need to burn all your deck and survive as your opponent is not going to just sit there watching you just damage yourself. You will need to have some means of recovery and we have seen some cards that could help but not sure if that will be enough since running soul fragments will be undesirable for deck burning. I think all of this will be taking way too much time and be very risky but the reward is high. Ultimately, I may be wrong, but this quest in its deck burn guise will be dead (one utilising soul fragments could be viable, though).

The new healing cards, Spice Bread Baker and Flightmaster Dungar, will help you survive the questing process. Maybe you don't have to go all in on Soul Fragments, which are a little too slow and inconsistent sometimes. Deck-burning and Soul Fragments don't play well together, anyway.

So warlock can draw without drawbacks, tickatus my 10 cards and invulnerable to fatigue? FML as control decks.
Kinda love this. The synergy with Neeru is really good too.
Not looking forward to degenerate OTKs, tho.
