no wonder deathrattle demon hunter is not that frequent anymore as this card absolutely destroys those 3 health minions and apparently the minions summoned by the quillboars only has 3 max health hahaha
"Overload is only charged when the card with Overload is successfully played from the hand"
Directly from the Overload page on the wiki
When Yogg casts spells with overload, you were overloaded. So that description is patently false.
A nice and welcome big middle finger to all those crazy turn 1 gibbering boards. Love it.
Let's suppose your opponent has a full board of tokens. You play this and kill one minion and overload 1 mana crystal, then the spell is recasted, kills another minion, overload another mana and so on. Then when there is one minion remain. The spell kills the minion, you get 7 mana overload, but the condition is still true (the last minion died by the 3 damage spell) so a new iteration occurs but this time over empty board, and you get another mana overload.
So you always are overloaded n + 1 mana where n is the number of opponent minions with 3 or less health.
" but the condition is still true (the last minion died by the 3 damage spell) so a new iteration occurs but this time over empty board, and you get another mana overload."
not true, the condition is not enough, the board has to be in a valid state to cast a spell, you cant cast a deadly shot or a forked lightning on an empty board (or even this spell), if the board is not in a valid state the cast wont happen and you wont get the overload
Thanks for the clarification
Very cheap, can turn must AoE damage effects into a board clear for 1 more mana. You'll probably lose the following turn due to stacked overload but if you're able to drop a chunky minion on the board at the end of turn, it could be a nice swing.
Yes if you have that minion that’s good. Otherwise tell me why this is better than lightning storm. Guaranteed 3 damage to all minions and only 2 overload. Of course this costs only one mana but playing it on early turns will totally cripple your next turn
Or is it awesome in Wild? Lower Snowfury Giant by 7 mana in one turn plus clear the board sounds great to me.
so can you overload 7 ? or I'm getting it wrong ?
8 actually. The last spell is casted on empty board
i dont think so, you cant cast a random target spell without valid target
Actually pretty good, unless the overload applies on each recast. Then it's awful.
Maybe there is a chance that it wont overload each time? My logic being that: You also dont pay the mana cost again for recasting it.
Overload might be the "play" cost, not the "cast" cost, if that makes sense, just as mana is.
If this was a mage spell it would do the same but without overload.
Stop shitting on shaman
Yeah, actually with power level of Mage spells, they are the one that should have overload.
I wonder how it works with unbound elemental?
i think it will buff it once, because automatic recast does not count as "play a card" it never did and unbound wording says "after you play a card"
Does it overload each time it recasts?? If thats the case its a good early game board clear but would be bad mid to late game.
