Facehunter spotted
Is this the card draw hunter need?
I am slightly disappointed hunter is going to be the same thing it has been forever
I think people are overestimating this card. You need to build your deck with a decent number of 1-drops for this to work, so either an Aggro deck that runs almost nothing but 1-drops, or a Control deck that runs a few 1-drops and cards to stall until it can play them all. I don't think this csrd is playable in Midrange Beast Hunter.
Problem with the Aggro variant is, even after you manage to play Queen Carnassa, if you draw a 1-drop that isn't a Carnassa's Brood, you're screwed. This is even more likely to happen if you try to pull of the Tundra Rhino combo.
Problem with the Control variant is, Hunter still does not have enough control tools. Even if Blizzard does release enough tools to make Control Hunter viable, its still going to lose to Jade decks.
I really wish that the Quest was "summon" instead of "play" 1-cost minions, of course with a higher quest requirement.
The more I do the math on this card, the worse I think it is.
Lets say you empty your hand on turn 4, then play Queen Carnassa on turn 5. On turn 6, you only have a 40.54%(going first)/41.67%(going second) chance to draw Carnassa's Brood. If your deck only consists of 1-cost minions, not drawing a Carnassa's Brood would mean playing 2 1-drops on turn 6, which will lose you the game immediately if the opponent had/has removal to deal with Queen Carnassa itself.
Also note that, currently, there are no 1-cost minions for Hunter that draws a card.
If you don't draw them (remember, the chance is <50%). My point is there are no 1-drops you can run that helps you draw into Carnassa's Broods.
Runic Egg is a one drop that draws cards.
I think this card has the chance to do insanely well, it also has some pretty big downsides. First off, what type of deck would this card go into? Hunter does not tend to do well in late game type of decks and unless hunter gets some better early game cards, it might still struggle with pirates (if they stay in the meta) and possibly an elemental deck (as it looks like a midrange style deck). However, if hunter can get past that point without being dead, this quest should be really well.
Another issue with this quest is that if you are later in the game and you are like 5/7 or 4/7, drawing into a 1 mana creature and playing it, since you need a lot of them, is going to be a dead top deck and while cards like Tol'vir Warden will help prevent this, it is still going to be hard to find a good balance where you get your early drops but then also have some late game cards too. Granted, once somebody finds a good deck for this, a majority are just going to net deck that deck.
My final issue with this card is that like the rest of the quests, this butchers your turn 1 play. Even though we have seen a ton of anti-aggro card being printed in Un'goro, aggro will still be present somewhere in the meta and it should dominate quest decks and this one is no exception. This quest also prevents you from playing one of your 1 mana cards on turn 1, and even if you have 2, a 1 mana card on turn 1 is better than 2 1 mana cards on turn 2.
Despite those 3 issues, I do think this quest will be strong and people will make decks around it. However, I would not go ahead and say that this is going to be the meta yet. We still have over half the set to be unveiled, lots of stuff can happen to make a card go from looking amazing to being bad. I do hope this card works out though since the animations are gorgeous and the concept is fun.
This is...Definite proof that the Hearthstone dev team has learned NOTHING WHATSOEVER from all the horrible aggro metas, and decided to stab all the other hard work on this expansion by releasing an aggro deck that's WORSE than Pirate Warrior and Facehunter in its prime.
I'm not sure that this will be played in aggro variants, the quest will take time to complete and then as long as the opponent has board clear the Carnassa's Broods, they could become worthless.
Mark my words! Aggro shall consume this meta as it always has, and Jade shall render non-Shaman Elemental decks worthless!
Inb4 mill hunter becomes viable
This card with bran in wild. 30 RAPTORS!?!?
Each Raptor drawing two more Raptors???!! OH THE HORROR
I think that you are being a bit too dramatic, remember, without The Coin a hunter can't play both the quest and a 1-drop on turn 1. Also, since card draw in hunter has been bad since the nerf to Starving Buzzard, hunters might not draw into their 1-drops to complete this quest quickly enough.
Won't work I bet but still gonna try to make this into a control card. It will just be a deck that has a bowl shaped curve :P I mean you can totally play this against another control deck and just basically say "I have 15 3/2 minions with 'draw a card' attached to them, gonna answer them all?" Then finish it off with King Krush and Dred. XD Will be fun at least.
seems like JADE
dominate all control decks
