Reward
Card Clarifications
- The effect happens to minions which are played and summoned. For example, Frogs and Sheep from Hex and Polymorph would become 4/4. (Source)
- Cards on the battlefield when Crystal Core is played will become a 4/4 regardless of active buffs on them. You can later on buff them with cards and they will retain those stats. (Source)
- Example: Edwin VanCleef's effect works as normal if he's in your hand after Crystal Core is played. It will just add the +2/+2 to the 4/4. (Source)
- The reward for this quest is Crystal Core.

Just dust it. There's no penalty for dusting nerfed cards, for if it's found out that they're still good, then you can just recraft them with the nerf dust.
I opened a golden one about a month ago. Life is good!
Thank god this stupid card is getting nerfed again.
Hey, now they can't get targeted by Priest removal. Hidden buff.
Jokes aside, this nerf won't do much. Some removal will have an easier time with them, and they can't burst down as fast, but the thing is THEY STILL HAVE A SHITLOAD OF CHARGE AND RUSH MINIONS SO IT DOESN'T MATTER.
The nerfs doesn't fix what's broken about Quest Rogue, and that's the fact they can just burst Control down. Their only counter is Aggro, but the thing is now thanks to Vicious Scalehide that's not as much of a problem anymore.
Correct me if I’m wrong - is this the first card in HS history to get nerfed TWICE?
Unleash the Hounds
Now they will be 4/4 YES!
LAUGHS IN Flamestrike
I just don't understand how this quest works. I played 2 cards of the same type and it didn't count me as a quest. But when I see someone else doing it, it does. Can someone explain how exactly is it supposed to work ?!?
For the record, the guy played elven mistrel as his first card, and then proceeded to play 2 boar and he was already at 2/5 in the quest.
I tried to do the same with Novice engineer as my first, and later on with 2 Vicious Scalehide, but the 2nd Vicious didn't count me in the quest.
Is there something I'm missing ?!?
In your example you have played two Engineers and two Scalehides. Engineer doesn't have the same name as Scalehide. Therefore your quest progress is 2/5 with Engineers and 2/5 with Scalehides.
Aww, Blizzard has enabled inbred players to win without playing Paladin. How progressive and tolerant of them!
Crying about the deck won't make you any better against it.
I didn't cry about the deck, I just insulted its players.
But alas, saying L2P does not make you sound better than you really are either.
cmon quest rogue its very cancerous becouse cubelock players made him.If cubelock wouldnt exist, no one would think to play it beacouse everybody thought it was dead...
Hey look, a nerfed card became meta! Let's rage and ask for nerfs like some 8 yo kids.
Worst card they have ever made. Quests in general were a big mistake.
I kinda have to agree. Quests are either OP, or underpowered as shit. The only quest played anymore is this one, for the other Quests have been replaced with much better cards.
The Hero Cards and Legendary Weapons were much better implemented. It's a shame the time we finally got Legendary Spells, they ended up sucking ass.
You know what? Just delete this card already!
Witchwood did two 180s on me with this card. The first one that scared me into thinking this card would terrorize the meta once again, and the second one showing me how devastating the nerf actually was.
To simply put it, this card gave me a mini-heart attack on ladder today. Glad to see it's not 100% just yet.
