I don't know...I mean, it's obviously super vulnerable to hard removal & silence, but the typical rebuttal to that is just play other minions earlier that are weak to same thing so they can take the fall instead. Trouble is, most of these elementals (and their whole synergistic mechanic) are predicated on being cheap, small minions so you can activate effects like these (even more so with Ozruk). So in an elemental deck full of small things, what do you play before this guy that your opponent will need to Hex/destroy/silence so he can live? Especially if they know that's what you're setting up for.

Remember to keep a fire elemental token to check for the occasional potion of polymorph or mirror entity.

It's terrifying to imagine a 5/30 or so taunt but I'm a little skeptical. Against aggro or aggressive midrange, by turn 9, you've either won or lost already. Against defensive midrange or control, it's likely to die to a hard removal such as Hex, Shadow Word: Death, or Polymorph. Even in the matchups where neither one of those is a concern, you still need to find an opportunity to stockpile elementals to spam on turn 8 to get the most out of this card. It could be good, but it could also see no play at all. We'll see.

turn 9 is not that fast

Well, if you're able to build up to it in the previous turn it can.  And, like others have pointed out, there's a lot of cards that swap attack and Health that will really help this card.
