I'd rather have mirror entity but who knows it might be good in a secret deck
I hope this interaction will exist.
Both Repentance AND Snipe works on Jaraxus.
So this SHOULD work.
Except it may be canceled because Jaraxus doesn't exist.
Unlike when Repentance is triggered into Snipe, killing Jaraxus.
...
Flavor sais it SHOULD work.
Previous interactions say it may work.
Knowing Blizzard, the easiest solution is to not make it work -- no matter how fun the interatction is.
Now mage can run 3 kinds of Polymorphs. Pavel smiled when this card was made.
Also warlocks and priests have access to this secret through discovery. xD
Isn't basically evry spell that mage has removal? How much do you need?
Polymorph for 1 less mana
There's something to be said about using this card to disrupt your opponent's plays.
Wait for a key turn, when you know an opponent's deck is going to drop something big, say a Tirion Fordring on turn 8? Your opponent has to play around that - and being a secret, you can still keep that big threat from coming down if you don't have it, just because your opponent may assume you do, if you drop a secret right before their would-be big minion.
Other than that, this card is kind of nuts for tempo, play it late game against a control deck and it turns any big threat into a pingable nothing - or forces your opponent to play inoptimally, which buys you time.
I'm calling this one very good.
Mmm, the kreygasm you'll feel when this hits a Doomguard.
Interesting to consider is that Priests an Warlocks also have access to this Secret with Kabal Chemist.
Sure but I only wanted to mention it. ^^
Well they actually have access to all Mage secrets because of Kabal Courier.
Yes, but we will know this secret came from the chemist if they played the chemist so it will make the secret so easy to play around
Seems very lazy considering it's played around the exact same way Mirror Entity is.
this card is just a really un-fun design. Most of the time, this card will be better than Mirror Entity, which was already one of the most frustrating cards to play against. A lot of the time you can play into mirror entity and just make the choice to kill the summon with a weapon, or small spell because you know what's going to summon. But vs this, you have to sacrifice something. The only way to actually counter this card is to play something for 2 or 1 mana, which can be really difficult for a lot of decks, not to mention you can play this for free with the new 1 drop. They're going to play this for free with the 1 mana guy on like turn 3 or 4, and then you're automatically behind for the rest of the game in a tempo battle because you have to play 2 minions to get any value. Oh yeah and whilst were at it, lets make it a "potion" so that warlock and priest can get it too with the new kabal card!
I dont like the card either. The longer the expansion goes it seems like playing big legendary minions will be just pointless because a. Priest will be a huge thing (and this is the main reason) b. Hex and polymorph c. This secret + mirror entity may become viable thanks to addition of new 1 mana drop for mages.
Who knows maybe this meta will actually find a place for eater of secrets.
Secrets are very frustrating to play against, Mad Scientist and Mysterious Challenger proved that already. The anti-secret card are not very versatile Eater of Secrets and Kezan Mystic are pretty weak if their didn't activate, IMO they should have "Choose One" or "discover" effect which one has the effect against secrets.
well i think secrets are good for the game. The huge problem i have with them is the simple fact that only 3 classes have them. Furthermore, they thought for whatever reason, to make them cost different amounts which I think is a big mistake. 1 mana AKA paladin secrets is very stupid. A balanced 1 mana situational effect isn't worth spending a card slot on, so they had to go overboard to compensate for it and release BS secrets like Avenge which were wayyyy too good for 1 mana. And when you are running these secrets, you just click them in your hand because you dont have to invest anything in them. It's brainless for you and makes your opponent have to do a lot of work for no reason.
3 mana is too much for a secret to cost because to justify making it cost that high, they have to have HUGE dynamic effects, which is way too punishing to people that play around it. If a mage plays Counterspell, and you played a board clear, or big spell, you're pretty much dead in most games, but if you play The Coin, then they get hardcore screwed. ( i do LOVE Duplicate though.)
however, 2 mana AKA hunter secrets are the happy medium IMO. I think the hunter secrets (minus cat trick) are extremely well designed, have very tame effects, and actually reward BOTH players for making intelligent decisions. You get punished if you just play your trap from your hand, but not that much, so it actually encourages bluffing, which is a really cool and fun to watch and play. If your opponent is an idiot, they get screwed, like if they buff a dude and attack into Freezing Trap.
I think all secrets should be designed around being costed 2.
I think Kezan Mystic and Eater of Secrets and Flareare TERRIBLE card designs because you should not be able to punish 3 classes specifically for doing nothing other than play class cards. You NEED to use secrets as a hunter, and there's a lot of fun mage strats that are deck wins if they get eater of secrets played on them. So far in wild, I've maybe conceded from at least 20 games where I had duplicates up AND WAS HAVING FUN AND PLAYING MY DECK RIGHT, and then my opponent plays that stupid card, and my strat's literally over so i have to click the concede button. That's not good or fun design.
Go cry some more.
