The artwork is looks like she has been partly under the influence of The Old Gods, if you see that tentacle-ish thing on her right eye.
People don't have any clue in how to value cards. They see "hehe this card is the same as Cho'Gall + Reno condition, it sucks". But they are just too stupid to see that it's a MAGE card and Cho'Gall would be NUTS in Mage.
So, has anyone noticed how her magic usage is changing her appearance? It's almost as if Solia is slowly turning into a dragon...
she's beggining to evolve a stand such as jotaro kujo
it is indeed!
Turn 7 Pyroblast on an aggressive one off mage hype.
Now i know why Beneath The Ground epic Kappa
I think this card is not that useful in the current Control/Fatigue Reno Mage, because you're usually already floating so much mana that you'd want card advantage over tempo.
Instead, I think this card and Kazakus will spawn a new Tempo Highlander Burn Mage deck. Don't forget, Kazakus also has spells that summon minion(s), and spells that deal direct damage, not just board clears.
Imagine playing Alexstrasza. Next turn play Inkmaster Solia > Pyroblast > Roaring Torch (could be Frostbolt +Ice Lance). You don't even need to be freeze mage :)
You can play this withKazakus and/or Arch-Thief Rafaam . With Rafaam, it will be crazy since you need filler cards anyways since you're playing a no-duplicate deck.
That won't work, you can't play it on the same turn as Rafaam. The best it can do is make the Rafaam spell free, and summon a 5/5.
I just can't agree with you. In Reno decks I'm having the hardest time to decide which card to cut when I feel like I need to tech in another one. Especially heavy drops like 9 mana since you run so few in the deck.
Cho'gall 2: Electric Boogaloo?
A better one.
Inkmaster Solia + Coin = VALUE
Now this is true genius at it's best. Congrats on your amazing discovery, you deserve a Nobel prize.
Didn't Blizzard tell us about a week ago that they don't want to make too much cards with this formula, since they are very strong.
But now Mage can already put 3 (Reno, this one and that spell dude) in one deck?
Inkmaster Solia is a variation of Cho'gall, which doesn't see play. Probably most of the time you will combine it with a burn, so its like a Firelands Portal. Plus, it is more of a card that supports highlander decks, rather than the core of it (e.g. Reno and Kazakus) But it is insane, when you combine it with a 10 mana potion from Kazakus. But the chance of playing a kazakus before turn 7, and Inkster solia by turn 7 is slim.
The thing with Cho'gall is that it's a Warlock card, and Warlocks have terrible spells to combine with the effect. Their only massive board clears also clear their own board (e.g. Twisting Nether or DOOM!), but Mages have removal cards that work well with the effect like Flamestrike, Blizzard, or Firelands Portal (as you said). I understand where you're coming from, but I feel like this card will see a lot more play. (I also agree with your other points.)
I was arguing in the OP post about combining three highlander cards in a deck, and why is it balanced, not about the viability of Inkmaster Solia. I hope it sees play, the combo with a 10 mana Kazakus potion is too strong, which makes this an exceptional card. A combo with flame strike, blizzard, firelands, cabalist tome is also welcome. A combo with a burn like fireball to remove a minion, will be like the minimum value that player should demand if they play this card, since it will be essentially a second copy of Firelands Portal in a highlander deck. All in all, excited to play mages again!
