- Chris Metzen came up with the name/flavor for this card. One of the last things we collaborated on before he retired. We miss you, Metzen! (Source)

Happened to me twice in one game. I Dirty Ratted his Dirty Rat, then he Dirty Ratted my other Dirty Rat.
Turns out Dirty Rat is preeeeeety good.
This card is so good against pirate warrior, dragon priest, other renolocks and jade decks.
I always thought Dirty Ratwas risky and was thinking of subbing in a card instead of this, but my last game made me change my mind.
I was playing my own decklist of Reno N'zoth Shaman (which included Jade Golems of course), due to the recent additions to shaman's arsenal for control play, which was mainly Devolve, White Eyes, and Jade Golems. I went against a Reno C'thun Rogue, which had just played and Shadowstep-ed Reno Jackson. He had 4 cards in hand at that point of time, and had a 2 drop out as well. I had an Earth Elementalout too.
In the next few turns, after drawing Devolve, I played Dirty Rat, which pulled Reno Jackson, which allowed me to Devolve both his minions, which turned into a Meanstreet Marshal and Harrison Jones. After which i took them both out with Earth Elemental and Jade Lightning.
I won that game even after his C'thun was played as i drew Reno, and that match made my whole day :D
(I play on mobile, and i have proof, but i have no idea how to upload images as its a screenshot and i cant put a link, even after sending it to my PC)
It's a good combo but you almost got screwed over by giving him a harrison jones, not only is he amazing but if the rogue did shadowstep him they could've destroyed your doomhammer.
True, but i probably think he only ran a single shadowstep. Besides, which control shaman still uses Doomhammer kappa
I ain't tuckin'! -Twitch chat, 2k16.
Dirtiest card in the game. Also, it's nice to see a card that actually counters battlecry effects that is actually playable. Tons of strategy and decision making involved in when to play this card. Not too much counter-play unfortunately, but at least the person using it is making decisions and not just plopping down cards on curve.
Completely insane card, fits in renolock well and can be the deciding factor of who wins in the ditto; pulling key cards like Reno Jackson, Leeroy Jenkins, Faceless Manipulator and even your opponents own Dirty Rat at the right time can decide games on the spot.
I want to like this card and I tried it in a lot of decks - in rare cases he is useful - like if my Paladin is not dying too fast and has buffed a ton and when I play rat I can follow with a peacekeeper or equality/clear or something. BUT, truly consider - if you can get to this state, just about *any* card would work... like a protector or a promoter or anything really.
But he is 50% of the time horrible (pulls an arcane giant and you had to play rat before you amassed the necessary removals) and 40% of the time useless. I've replaced with informant as at least the discover doesn't have the potential to make you resign after you play the card.
I should DE this card, he is simply frustrating. Sure we can all pray for the incredibly lucky pull of reno... but you will play hundreds of games before that happens and rat will lose you MANY of those games as is, you need a good card, not this junk. I did pull Kaz once, yet I still lost - rat just doesn't have the goods. And for priest, he is a nightmare as you really need good 2 drops and this 2 drop will often make you immediately resign.
On the other hand, check out Fight Promoter, Second-Rate Bruiser, and Daring Reporter for more bang for your buck as they are much better cards with higher overall value for this slot.
I am playing a buffadin and I needed another taunt to deal with aggro decks so I craftet my self one Dirty Rat. I used it today and I buffed it to 5/10 and when I had to use it I was already prepared with an Aldor Peacekeeper and [cardTruesilver Championin my hand and I also had 5/5 [card]Doppelgangsters on board. I pulled a good ol Ragnaros the Firelord who I just took out without him shooting me.
I used it it also in my reno mage deck. Took out an unbuffed Doppelgagster
always pull out ragnaros/all 8 mana minion
Anybody else notice that he's wielding a Brass Knuckles?
Come on, come on, ride the Piloted Shredder with meeee!
Got completely crushed in Area by this thing, dropping out of Piloted Shredder
i got opponent's reno out so many times thanks to Dirty Rat instant GG
Make Mind Control Tech great again!
Looks like Kripp
Sleeper card of the set. Great against aggro and a good addition in Reno or control with Brann and MCT or board clear combos.
