Problem is it's a pretty vanilla minion all in all. Decks usually require that all of their 30 cards fit their gameplan to a T. As such vanilla minions, even excellent ones, usually see little to no play in constructed, which is my reasoning behind liking the card but thinking it won't be played.
Permanent stealth Stranglethorn Tiger SeemsGood
Stranglethorn tiger only sees play in constructed because of Managerie warden. In arena this will be soooo good. In constructed it will be about the same level as stanglethorn tiger just because of the lack of synergy in the class.
I know the tiger doesn't restealth itself, but when you play it in constructed it is to combo with the warden to get a second free 5/5. The only reason the tiger gets played no is because of on turn 5 you can get a decent body with stealth, and then on turn 6 two 5/5's. Lotus asssasian as a stand alone minion is better than the tiger, but has no synergistic properties.
Tiger saw play in midrange Hunter just to fill the 5 drop slot. In Rogue the 5 slot is filled with Azure Drake...so when you build a Rogue deck that doesn't play Azure Drake, this guy starts seeing play. That's the way I see it.
I can see Tempo Rogue completely dropping Azure Drake for this dude. The Tempo you gain from him over 2 turns could be massive.
It looks out of place when miracle is just about the only viable "competitive" rogue deck, but bottom line is this card guarantees a 2-for-1 if anything you attack first has 4 or less attack. You're asking for a lot for it to survive at 1 HP in stealth, but still, it seems like it generates a great amount of value.
Meta card, im calling it now. It has the ability to clear a minion and then survive a turn to be buffed and go lethal. Very flexible card and for the mana it does enough to be good.
slightly better than stranglethorn tiger
Might work in Control Rogue. You know, the one that uses N'Zoth and such.
Arena: Good
Constructed: Bad
Shame, then, that it's an Epic. Maybe Rogue needed better epics, tho.
Not so much of a shame. Rogue is already really good in arena, you can't let that card be in every Rogue Arena deck by making it common.
Strong Arena card but i don't see what kind of rogue deck would want this in constructed....then again, this is only the first of many rogue cards
Since it's apart of the lotus gang should he be a triclass card?
It's a well known fact that Pandas are better at hide-and-seek than Tigers.
