Insane synergy with Sorcerous Substitute
Will it work, though, if Sorcerous Substitute inherits the powers? Will it duplicate itself or does there have to be Spell Damage on the board first?
This does, in fact, work. The Sorcerous Substitute will copy itself if it has the DR effect on it.
Also, the new card Encumbered Pack Mule will copy itself with the DR, so you can double up the value there, too. Much cheaper option, as well. :)
vectus?
This is so damn confusing of a card for a free set. The rest of the set are really easy to understand for beginners but I can't see someone new to the game understanding this very well.
The questions are:
Does the inheritance work on other "abilities"? Like taunt, divine shields, other deathrattles etc. From the way its worded, I think not (it says "these powers" referring to the spell damage +2 and the deathrattle itself).
Does the inheritance allow stacking spell damage higher than the +2? If you have some spell damage minion (Lab Partner for instance) inherit this and then it dies, does the next creature inherit +3 spell damage, or just the +2? This one seems more plausible that it may work, but not sure.
Da Undatakah
when your 5/5 dies with 2 spell damage
Wonderful card design for value and maybe combo and memes, sad few decks do not allow anything to happen in wild =(
This is replacing Antonidus. A massive let down.
TLDR: this card will pass the deathrattle + spellpower. Which gives the ability for the next minion to pass their ability along. This ability is based on the thematic of Guardians in Warcraft gathering powers from several individuals and passing them on through generations of Guardians.
If that deathrattle lands on a divine shield minion would the next minion also inherit that?
I don't understand it. Will the next minion have also Spell Damage +2 and the Deathrattle?
Yes. So you do understand it.
This being 3/5 or even 3/4 for 4 manas will be so sweet, the 5 manas spot is already cluncky in that deck, unfortunately, you will run Jandice and wish very hard to this card be one of the two minions.
Does Mage have access to triggering deathrattles multiple times?
Does now
Baron Rivendare is now standard.
I don't think triggering this twice would do much... The next minion would get spell damage +2 and 2 of these deathrattles, and that would just keep happening, because it's always transferring to "the next minion" (singular)
You would have to catch it on a minion with Reborn, kill that minion, draw a minion, then kill the minion thst was reborn to get multiples... But then if both of the minions you've created died in the same turn without a minion being drawn between, it would go back to stacking uselessly on a single minion.
The best possibility would be to stack a bunch of low cost minions with +2 spell damage in hand, but it would be a complex process of killing your own reborn minions, and drawing minions.
Probably not viable beyond having a single minion with +2 spell damage on board every turn.
Nice it will jump minion to minion.
