Rogues are gonna like this
Otk warrior gets a new card
Seems like an interesting card for Yogg and Load hunter, especially with the new cloaked huntress. It's also a big minion so it can often win jousts.
Auctioneer + prep + conceal. Thought old miracle was bad?
Think again amigo
wellcome back sir BGH, i missed you
Actually BGH won't be used that much. My thoughts are this will only be used in OTK decks, meaning BGH will still be a dead draw since you won't be able to counter the giant in most situations.
On the plus side, in order to get this down to a "cheated" mana level, you have to play 6 spells at least (6 mana 8/8).
Pretty OP for miracle decks
Tempo Mage dream opener, going second: (spells are underlined)
Turn 1: Mana Wyrm (Arcane Giant costs 12)
Turn 2: Sorcerer's Apprentice, Mirror Image x2, Arcane Blast x2 (Arcane Giant costs 8)
Turn 3 (assuming Apprentice survives): Arcane Intellect, Coin, Arcane Intellect, Arcane Missiles (Arcane Giant Costs 4)
Turn 4: 4 Mana 8/8
This has been said before, no doubt, but it's important to distinguish this card and Mountain Giant, a card which, back in the heyday of Handlock, liked to pop out as a 4 mana 8/8. All that was required for Mountain Giant to pull this off was that you Tapped every turn and had Mountain Giant in hand by Turn 4. For Arcane Giant to do the same, however, in a spell-heavy deck, you would need to have played at least 8 spells by Turn 4. Even Tempo Mage cannot do that reliably.
What Arcane Giant can do which Mountain cannot is hold onto its discounted Cost for longer games. Mountain Giant provided a reliable early-game tempo swing, but its advantage dwindled as the game dragged on and the Warlock's hand emptied. Arcane Giant, on the other hand, can simply sit in your hand or deck until it reaches 1 or 0 Mana (viz. Nerubian Prophet), then be played on the same turn as a board control spell such as Flamestrike. At any point in the game, a 0 Mana 8/8 is nothing to scoff at.
I think is card is powerful, but not broken. A broken or "overpowered" card is a card which unfairly dominates the metagame because of its versatility and/or its ability to be run in almost any competitive deck (Dr. Boom, for instance). Arcane Giant appears to have a very specific niche in spell-heavy decks. Keep in mind that in order for Arcane Giant to cost 0, you will need to have drawn and played at least 12 spells, which is almost half your deck. Arcane Giant simply will not perform consistently unless run in a deck which runs a substantial number of spells, along with the card draw necessary to cycle through them.
Arcane golem hype
Finaly gave good card for rogue
Probably the best card of this advanture
With all the cheap spells used early on in tempo mage I can see two copies being potentially placed in the current standard deck. Definitely a card to watch out for across various deck archetypes that are spell heavy.
Haha exactly xD
I don't think he's that great in a Yogg Mage, Yogg Druid or Miracle Rogue deck, since if you're running mostly removal Spells in your deck, then your opponent will most likely have a removal in hand to immediately deal with this guy when you drop it (although this might change due to the new Portals). I think this card might be a great addition to YoggAndLoad Hunters or Token Druids (since their spells actually summon stuff that the opponent has to deal with).
I can't wait to see someone make a Echo of Medivh Mage with this card instead of Molten Giants in Wild!
Edit: My bad, Miracle Rogue has Edwin VanCleef and Conceal, definitely viable
holy hell my joke Giants Blood Warrior's deck might actually be viable now
Hahaha please make a list xD
Actually playable, unlike most of his giant brothers (Molten Giant FeelsBadMan).
I believe this the most broken card in this expansion .
If you thought 4 mana 7 7 was good , Mage and Druid just got a 0 mana 8 8 .
Good job Blizzard !
Priest can do it aswell! With resurrects and holy smites and stuff you have around 18-20 spells or so which is what most yogg druids have in theory after raven idols and wild growth on turn 10.
Yogg's favourite action figure from his childhood
This i the only card i hate from this adventure....I mean...Yogg is already dumb enough because it'S basically: "i don#t want to think right now, yogg, win the game for me"... now all those full-RNG-but-somehow-viable spell decks get a solid minion, not unlike the elusive Molten Giant which had to be nerfed if anyone remembers....
Basically Yogg Druid has yet another threat you have to deal with...not to mention all the other spellheavy decks this will spawn
not to mention miracle Rogue basically gets 2 0 mana 8/8 that they can stealth and hit you for 16 next turn + whatever else they got on the board...but at least Rogue has some relevant counters
