sadly the card is bad in standard because its way to offcurve to be playable in an aggro meta. but i like my dub/echo mage with the new owl and now this card. its so sad that there is only one way to build mage atm in standard, control mage/infinite fireball mage was just the most fun deck ever.
Problem is you can't us it on turn 2 really. Of it was secret in your hand then yeah
With this number of secret cards it's maybe time for Secret Eater in a deck....
But you can't deny that good damage as then you can save frostbolt for the ice lance as sometimes you have to use frostbolt to keep the board under control
You wouldn't be replacing frost bolt with this, you'd just run it in addition to frost bolt
And Medivh's wallet was stolen by the monkey
so mage doesn't have a way to get secrets before turn 2 (in Standard of course) so it's more of a control card.
You can do a 5 mana combo which is not that bad but in most cases i think you'll want this in decks that run iceblock, since that's the only secret that sticks around long enough.
I basically see it as a future replacement for Forgotten Torch in freeze mage once it rotates out. as long as you have iceblock it's a 2 mana 3 damage removal or face damage
Forgotten torch is played, because it gives 2 3mana fireballs. Not because of 3 damage.
especially for fatigue

Shaman doesn't have secrets... And I think you may be colorblind.
I feel like blizzard has come down upon wings of pure awesome and delivered me this card.
What a perfect fit for my favorite deck, WILD secret tempo mage.
hm... 2/3 for 2 is an ok statline. if you play it on 2 mana most likely you wont have a secret out. if you have a secret out though then a direct 3 damage while giving a 2/3 on the board is pretty good. combo with brann bronzbeared and you got 4/7 worth of stats along with a fireball for 5 mana.
Can be broken with Mad Scientist

Rating: Good
New Archetype: Secret Mage, or just make secrets worth playing in Tempo Mage again
For the Meta: Aggressive but Tempo Mage aggressive so not crazy aggressive
Power Level: Good 2/3 deal 3 dmg is definitely good and you can choose secrets that stick around
Will it see play: There is a lot of awkwardness that could prevent this card from seeing play. The secrets that stick around are not the ones you want in a deck with a 2 mana 2/3 that does 3 dmg. Also on curve puts this out the turn before you could possibly have a secret in play so you have to play it when a 2/3 body is weak on the board. So probably won't see play. Maybe, but probably not.
Theory Craft: Just for fun deck with Kirin Tor and Ethereal dude and a bunch of secrets
Fun: Mage secrets are pretty fun especially Effigy
the tempo swing is real
I have no idea what to think of this... My first instinct is that it would be better with bigger stats and a cost of 4. As a standard stat 2-drop, you kinda want to play it before a Mage can get secrets down.
Seems sad we get 2 really solid secret friends with Mage, and then no secrets for Mage. If they would have added a new playable secret, I'd be more inclined to throw down with this. Still a decent value card especially with Ice Block or Duplicate in Wild.
If Secret Mage becomes a thing, it's entirely because of this card.
