A Blizzard's mistake, nothing more. Very good observation, the most small details are relevant.
Interesting card, but...
such a dull art for him!
No matter the funky adventure setting, that is not Medivh. That's just a snobbish drunkard wielding a staff!
which is just as bad.
Medivh could have stayed the dark, mysterious guy we have known since, while keeping the funky atmosphere on the expansion itself (similarly to what's been masterfully done with the Old Gods).
Sure, there's the hero Medivh already, but c'mon he's a (or THE) major character in the whole Warcraft franchise, he deserves some serious sick art even as a card, not an expansion theme dressing..
PS: the art in itself is not bad, just not fitting, IMO.
Yeah, if this hadn't been an official post I would have said it was a fake just based on the card art.
This is hearthstone, not WoW.
No one cares about WoW lore here.
Everything I know about WoW lore I've learned playing Hearthstone, so that's really not the issue. All I'm saying is that they could have at least centered the image in the frame, and maybe chosen a clearer picture.
is party time Medivh ;)
since when is Medivh the main character of warcraft?? There isn't any real protagonist, but I'd figure more people would think thrall would be the main character.
...
This is a much younger Medivh from a much happier time. He got possessed and controlled to fuck over his owr people. That would tun any party mage salty. Though the Hearthstone devs have explicitly stated that Hearthstone exists in alternate version of the WoW would. This like how there is Marvel Comics, Marvel Cinematic, and Ultimate universes and they don't have to look the same. You can have a black Nick Fury or a happy Ragnaros.
Play it, you gain a weapon > End your turn > Cast Pyroblast > Win.
Play it, you gain a weapon > end your turn > cast Firelands Portal > deal 5 damage, summon a 5-drop and a 7-drop > Win
Atiesh is a 1/3 weapon, when you cast a spell you summon a minion of that cost and the weapon loses a durability. Basically medivh is just a summoning stone that is slightly trickier to destroy but is countered with weapon removal. Not sure if he'll be good at all unless yogg decks become more popular.
Lets see who can benefit the most from this car.
The more usefull spells (currently used in meta or spells which one might consider to include in deck with Medivh) of higher mana cost the better score class will get.
Score by weighted avarage (mana cost 4+ ; atleast 4 spells - can be duplicates). Didnt include hunter because no1 is going to play 2 explosive shots, same principle goes to rogue:
Score by weighted avarage (mana cost 3+ ; atleast 2 spells of 4+ mana cost - can be duplicates):
Very important to note is that druid's score might be much higher due to larger benefit from low cost spells thanks to Soul of the Forest and Power of the Wild.

I think Druid is likely the only class thas is going to be playing this card.
Another good card that will only become viable if the meta ever slows down.
