kodo is meant to be combo'd with humility as hard removal.
Ideas
-Huge toad/Nz'oth deck
-Jeweled Scarab/Steward isn't horrible. Pally has some good 3 drops that synergize with divine shield, aldor/another steward/rallying blade
-Armored warhouse/late game deck with high minion costs
-muklas - token/shield pally
I'm personally trying to iron out a Murlock night/muklas/drake aggro deck
If you're playing N'zoth Paladin with X1 Humility and X2 Aldor Peacekeeper, then Stampeding Kodo has value with the removal of Sludge Belcher in standard. What else are you going to fill your 5 mana slot with?
Jeweled Scarab is another great neutral beast in classes like Shaman and Mage.
I agree with Corrupted Seer and don't currently see the value in that card. However; there's Sir Finley as a great neutral Murloc for classes that don't have ping hero powers and, speaking of N'zoth Paladins, Murloc Knight is a great card that can bait out AOE.
The Curator only needs to consistently draw 2 to be good, so you don't even need to force murlocs in a deck that can't play them optimally. Add in the fact that this card has taunt to slow down tempo makes it invaluable. It won't be a must include for all decks, but it'll be very nice for specific decks, which makes it that much better. It's not a Dr. 7 for all classes-- just a few.
Mill rogue?
I'm think about building this into a rushy/midrange pally deck. Murloc Knight/Muklas/Yesera all high cost I really wouldn't want to run, but all benefit smorking, Ysera is a little more valuable as you might have a 1 drop to play with it. If you make it to turn 7 you are probably burning for some card draw/some finisher/sustain.
The taunt might protect some smaller creatures, next turn you can mukla champ everything(plus your pally minion), if it magically survives you have Murlock knight crazy combo next turn. Just have to bait out all the AOE/removal beforehand.
I was toying with a similar idea but didn't think of trying mukla's (just didn't realize he was a beast TBH)
Since adding him however I'm 5-0 with my deck.
edit: 9-2 now.
it's a WIP but if this streak keeps up I'll at least show a WIP SS.
I like this card, i see a lot of potencial
Remember Ancient of Lore when you could draw 2 cards? This might be a better version of it!
Pros
Cons
And you seriously don't put this under Cons?
- 'You actually still need to have at least one Beast AND Dragon in your deck by turn 7 if you want this guy to give above average value'
And, let's face it, you don't draw a Murloc with this dude. Ever. Even Mrglton is not good in Druid.
ive playing corrupted Seer in a few decks and its been working like a charm so THAT could be the murloc you search for.
Yeah my bad I realised after I commented... Still I think there might be some place for a Kodo in the meta right now
Mrglton seems good in Druid based on the high chance of getting a better hero power out of him.
Shapeshift is really pretty terrible.
How about control anyfin pally with kodo, azure and the 4 murlocs?
Anyone got any speculation as to whether this combos with Chromaggus? (i.e. do you duplicate everything you draw?)
Edit: I remember there was similar confusion with Ysera, and as a result Ysera was reworded from "draw" to "add a dream card to your hand".
It takes a minion from your decks and adds it to your hand. Thus it's drawing in the sense of any other card, just narrower perimeters.
Ysera's text was supposed to be something like there's a special deck you were drawing from, that's why the confusion existed there. But since it's your own deck, I have no questions that it will be doubled by CM.
Tested it, it does duplicate them all, not saying it's easy to do though lol
soooo a beast, a dragon and a murloc walked into a bar ...
Nice amount of 400 dust

This image. Curator jumping on a cow (beast) , Sir Finley (Murloc) , and Reno Jackson (Dragon??!!!!!!!)
Is Reno a Dragon??!!?!???!?!!?!??!?!?!!?!?!!?!!!?!??!!???!!!!!!
Reno is dragon confirmed!
Alright, 7 mana for a 4/6 taunt. A 4/6 vanilla taunt would be worth about 5 mana. A card draw effect is the equivalent of 2 mana in the case of Shiv vs Moonfire and Novice Engineer vs Wisp. So it's an average card if it draws you 1 card. If it draws you 2 or 3 cards, it's pretty good. If it draws you 1 SPECIFIC card it's above average and if it draws you 2 or 3 SPECIFIC cards, it's very good. Overall, it's a pretty average card that has the potential to be great. Just needs some work and thought put into it on how to make use of it. The fact that it can be used to grab 3 different types of cards makes this card a very flexible taunt. Looking forward to seeing this card.
