In all honesty, this isn't the most broken card ever, but it certainly is crazy. The only issue is that similar to Earth Elemental, it loses out to hard removal, and no matter how many locked crystals you have, overload is always a detriment. EVEN THEN Eternal Sentinel is a thing! And so are the evolution cards! And ancestral spirit!
It should be Overload: (4) or at least (3).
Epic Earth Elemental is worse than this card.
It seems somewhat balanced to me, tbh- the older Overload cards tend to be overcosted anyway, which is why most of them are considered bad. If you consider the Overload as part of its mana cost, it would be a 6 mana 7/7. Boulderfist Ogre is a 6 man 6/7, and since class cards should be better than neutrals, they added an extra 1 attack.
Could've been worse, it could summon a pair of 1/1s that deal 1-4 damage to a random target when destroyed
I think this is one of the best cards in the expansion, and the best common card in the entire game.
With BGH now costing 5 mana, I think this card will be nerfed after few weeks into the WOG.
You you can play this on turn 4. And since BGH costs 5 mana now, it probably will be able to attack at least once.
It is 6 mana 7/7 which is better than boulderfist ogre. Compared to Earth Elemental, it costs 2 less mana, and just has 1 less stat and no taunt. Since Earth Elemental is 5 mana, it can be BGHed.
And don't forget the overload synergies... there is tunnel trogg... and the new shaman 3/2 that unlocks overloaded crystals.
So Shamans will finally see a LOT of play... but I hope that the next nerf (which I vision) doesn't completely nerf shamans.
Looks like Big Game Hunter's nerf will be even more painful. Very well for controls.

Are you serious? Even without the advantage of coming out on turn 4, this is a 7/7 for 6 mana. This card is so broken.
This card is straight up broken.
--A 7/7 for 6 mana is overstatted to begin with.
--A 7/7 that's upfront cost is 4 mana is broken. It's a better Fel Reaver that comes out a turn earlier.
--Thanks to Tunnel Trogg, overload isn't even a downside in face decks.
--Nerfing BGH. And then making more minions that was the reason BGH was necessary (Mountain giant--Turn 4 8/8).
--That you can follow this with the 2 mana 3/2 and lose no Tempo at all...

I have no idea how any deck short of a massive Control Pali deck (As in 2 Aldors, 2 Keepers, 2 Equality, 2 Wild Pyros) is going to be able to deal with this opener...
Turn 1 Tunnel Trogg.
Turn 2 Coin Feral Spirits.
Turn 3 Abusive.
Turn 4 7/7
Good luck clearing that. And if you do. Good luck winning against a class that has Doomhammer, Lightning Bolt, Lava Burst, Rockbiters at your low health total.
Talk about limiting design space. Every deck is going to have to be built around dealing with Tunnel Trogg, a big board clear, and a 7/7 minion all within the first 3 turns. Anything that can't do that is going to be too slow.
With format changes, there isn't nearly as much of a problem now.
Is this absurd? Yeah, it is, but Freeze Mage has always been able to deal with openers like that, and Freeze Mage will still be around in Standard; most of its good cards are core and the ones that aren't, like Duplicate, have reasonable facsimiles or good replacements. Point being, you're assuming this is going unanswered.

Sh: T2 Coin into Feral Spirits
Ma: T3 > Twilight Flamecaller, Mana Wyrm kills 1 Wolf and is now at 2/1
Sh: T3 > Abusive > Wolf; Wolf hits face (?)
Ma: T4 Demented Frostcaller; Flamecaller kills Wolf, Mana Wyrm kills Abusive.
Sh: T4 play Flamewreathed Faceless to an empty board
Ma: T5 Sheep Faceless triggering Frostcaller to freeze the sheep, go face with Frostcaller.
Aggro is going to have a really hard time in this meta. There are a LOT of control options that have opened up in every class, and old tools that aggro used to have like Owl and BGH aren't going to be viable in those decks anymore.
It's a common card. Guess they really want to see more shaman in arena :P
Yea i really agree shaman has not been in the best place for a while but this is absolutely ridiculous.

then please, go ahead and destroy my 4 mana with a 5 mana, i'll just play earth ele.
And now we have two cards to remove the overload. Plus, I'm actually gonna be happy if a guy BGH's a 6 mana vanilla minion.
overlaod is irrelevant with the new card
or you know play Fireguard Destroyer then Flamewreathed Faceless on your next turn.
