priest didn't play healbot though did it?
Why are people so set on the past meta and past decks?
Firstly priest is losing lightbomb one of its best aoes for killing big minions.
Secondly control priest was basically fatigue and required constant removal and answers to everything. Losing lightbomb makes it a lot harder.
Thirdly control priest cut most of its big minions and win cons just to survive against aggro.
Cthun is a clear win con better than anything control priest had before and with huge potential with hooded acolytes to end the game well before fatigue. This means that priest will have less answers and will need heals to survive. Furthermore a healbot with 3/3 did almost nothing in terms of board presence and was not a good heal for priests. That's why cards like flash heal were used instead as it could either heal in a pinch or be used for direct damage with auchenai.
Having a heal 10 with a 6/5 body means you get to survive and now your opponent has to deal with a big minion which does more damage than flash of light. Also buys you time to play cthun which has a huge impact unlike cards such as ysera or palettes.
TL;DR old control priest didn't need healbot but cthun priest having a faster win con and less removal will definitely appreciate having a heal in twilight darkmender.
Very good value, will be good in Cthun Priest,
thank god, i can finally heal myself as a priest!
This with Brann Bronzebeard.. is the new Reno Jackson for priests.
It's incredible that this expansion is bringing in 5 mana 6/5s with upside, though they require very specific deck synergy to work. Brann Bronzebeard just might do tons of work in WotOG.
Finally a anti-aggro card, seems preety good, especially because at the moment you will want to heal yourself your C'Thun will most likely have 10 attack. Also the stats are on curve so you can play it anyway
I can't WAIT to see the videos of priests killing themselves with this because of Auchenai. Seriously, I think Auchenai has been the cause of more self-inflicted deaths then any other card in the game.
As for the card itself, looks pretty good in a C'Thun Priest. Is C'Thun priest viable? That's a different question altogether.
In which world do you wanna play C´Thun Priest?
Why not?
The world where this card exists?
The world where priest is a late game orient d control deck that now has a huge finisher in cthun.
With all cthun synergies I can easily imagine cthun getting past 20/20 in priest so now it has a true win condition
