This is really annoying. I get that it's a funny pun, it made me chuckle, and all, but it's such a bad card. Can you really think of a situation where this is good, and not a win-more? I played Dark Wispers! I did. I tried to have fun with it. It wasn't really that good, this just seems worse.
The first option, 7 wisps, is not something 7 mana is worth. Losing your 7 mana card to literally ANY aoe, considering 8/10 meta decks run some form of aoe? Also, if I have a minion on the board, I get 6 wisps for 7 mana? What if I have 2 minions? I'm not paying 7 mana for +4+4, and im not paying 7 mana for 5 wisps!
The second option, +2+2 to everything, is pointless. Ok, you have a great board. You're already winning. Now you have a better board! What was the point? Instead of putting all your eggs into one basket that can get cleared with aoe, you should be progressing yourself in some other way. Like, drawing cards. Ramping. Playing sticky minions. "When you're ahead, get further ahead", is a great idea, except you have to be careful about how you get further ahead, because you're setting yourself up for a huge disadvantage by buffing an already-good board.
TL:DR, second option is only useful when winning and even then can set you up to lose, first option is pretty much always a waste, and is going to get destroyed. Unless druids get a card that somehow makes this playable, of course.
Actually this go along well with Dark Wispers curve wise, and if Blizzard want to release 15 more card to push for a wisp deck, I am all for that. Well time to start a Fan Creation forum and design some wisp cards.
Gonna leave this here for when we realise that it's a staple in every Druid deck in Standard...
Red wisps vs blue wisps!
i'd actually love to see that xD
It's normal wisps no cause you don't want to fill your battlefield with 1/1 but if you have a lot of minions it's
Arena 3 out 10
Constructed 5 out 10
They are nerfing Savage Roar + Force of Nature and giving us something worse that, in theory, if you have a board full of minions, could work somewhat in the same direction.
Innervate + coin on t4 with three or four cheap minions and you get +6 or +8 damage to face. On the good side, it lasts longer than one single turn.
The only advantage I can think this card has is that it packs a cheaper version of the combo in one single card, instead of two (but I don't mean it's a good card btw)
You also have the option of a board full of wisps. Good in theory, but it requires both sides of the board empty in order to get a good value.
Blizzard is just trolling us with this expansion. Not that this game is built on seriousness, but I can't take about 3/4 of these cards seriously. A ten mana 7/5 with the potential to kill you, a worse version of Gruul with a cheesy name, and now this crap. Whenever I see cards like this it kills my hype.
Yes you're right, but i also aware that Blizzard will learn a wrong lesson from people's feedback. They will look at our comments and think: "this guys want OP cards like Naxx and GvG. So next time we won't be trying making fair cards again. If people will pay us only for OP cards we'll give them that, whatever, we just don't care what for you will pay us."
This is not truth though. There are cards in this expansion which are very weak. The powerlevel should be comparable to a classic set. TGT was on pair with it, realy great expansion (except Bolf lol).
The Call of the Wild seems like mega powerful hunter card, and then druid got this.... And it's also epic..
However I like Yog-Saron i think there must be at least 2 general card concepts like the reliable cards to play in ranked or fun cards like Yog-Saron to play some casino-decks in casual. It is always fun. Also Cho-Gal seems interesting so not realy agree with you on this 2.
Yes Blizzard, you made a pun, good job... Next time please don't do it at the expense of a class that is just about to be nerfed into the ground.
Glad to see they had a space open to make a lame joke. Imagine if they just hadn't.
Then again, as long as Druids have Force/Savage, it doesn't matter how bad their new spells are.
Yes but it is also makes druid the most boring class which plays same since hearthstone release with minor tweaks.
To fix this card they could add additional card text to whisps which will make it unique and stick with original wc lore. My suggestion: when whisp attacks minion it silence it first (since silence is equivalent to dispell in warcraft). Still this card even with that effect should cost 6 mana max......
play this, summon 7 wisps, then play 2x innervate and play a 2nd one and turn em all into 3 3s. Can't wait!
Play rafaam with zombies then and don't wait....
Both Onyxia or Cenarius beat this shit hands down. I mean i rly don't understand the person who design this. To get a full value of whisps you have to had no board on turn 7. It's unlikely though that in such situation your opponent will have no board too, so at best case 3-4 whisps stay alive at start of your turn 8. And what you will do with that? buff them with power of the wild or savage roar?... OP with innervates you say? wrong! So for fuck sake change it before too late.
This should cost max 5 mana. +1/+1 is power of the wild which costs 2. 2xPOtW cost 4, so 1 additional mana for being in 1 card instead of 2. The whisps are realy weak and honestly EVEN if it will cost 5 mana i still much likely prefer to play 4/6 bear than this...
yea right, for extra 2 mana you get + 7/7 stats on onyxia if your board is clean). also having a paladin card that summons 5 1/1s that have some synergy with other cards is way better than this (also having a 6mana summon 5 wisps is better than this one here since at least you get more valuable [see cenarius] flexibility for the +1 mana). youd had to have at least 4 minions on the board to get value out of this (4x +2/2 = 8/8, which is kinda ok since you get it as charge damage again IF you have 4 minions and then savage roar could be better if it doesnt get nerfed) but that a big factor to get this card going ...
also cenarius has the buff too and comes with +4/6 stats at 2more mana
edit: what i wanted to say, dark whispers 2nd option is way more valuable if youre not winning since you only have to have 1 minion. this card is either win more for a worse manacost than cenarius OR a really bad card to play if youre not winning.
Those wisps doesn't have charge? WTF BLIZZARD???????
If the wisps had charge it would be totally fine, because the combo would come at 10 mana..only 28 dmg its not an OTK so its fair
You're a funny guy aren't you? Maybe The Ancient One should have charge too. WTH BLIZZARD?!?! Kappa
Lol. You can argue that all day but giving the enemy a turn to clear your 30/30 is not really a 'charge'. In fact, its not even close to becoming a charge minion...
